Superb Ben old boy.   :D

Someone mentioned the other day you can play Sensi for free on the XBox 360 along with speedball 2. Can anyone confirm this scurrilous rumour?

I'm not sure it's out yet. Think it's going to be on the live arcade thing with internet play and stuff.

I remember my wrist aching after playing that game and it destroyed many an Amiga joystick.

Cannon fodder was another great one.

Yeah, spelling mistake I guess. Swos is ace. It's got about a million leagues. Fuck knows how accurate the Faroe Islands one is though

Was SWOS the one with the management bit thrown in as well?

Never really took off as it should have done.

Yeah, proper career mode. I always used to end up getting sacked by Swindon and ending up manager of a shit team in Eastern Europe or something. Awesome times.

Beat the cunts 8). Actually I beat them 2-0 a few games ago but forgot to take a screen shot.

Steve Finney is gash. That is all.

Note to Ben.

I want this game. I remember it from my youth, and I need it back in my life.

How can I make this a possibility?

Yours sincerely

Actually, I've just checked, and you can. But it costs £20. More than I spent on it 12 years ago I'd imagine.

Yeah I got it for a tenner back in the day I think.

You can get a copy from the underdogs : http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?gameid=4565. It doesn't have the awesome Jonathan Pearce commentary though. And the underdogs site is a bit of a mess these days so make sure you've got ad pop-up things installed.

You'll have to get Dos Box (http://dosbox.sourceforge.net/news.php?show_news=1) to make it work as well. It's not too complicated.

Or I might CD image it and upload it if I'm feeling nice. Probably won't link it here though. Bit sketchy legally even if they haven't made any new copies for nearly a decade.

Anyway, back to playing the little fucker. Check this out for Euro '96 group stage qualification awesomeness.

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d35/flammableben/luckness.png

I drew 1-1 with them so I wonder if it did the random thing or I got through on alphabetical order.

Either way, next round without a win 8)

I have both cannon fodder and sensible soccer on my phone, both classics. Cannon Fodder is actually very similar to the original even on a phone, it's great.

Gay I lost 2-1 to the mighty Croatia. Mainly because I got the keys mixed up. If I hadn't broken my gamepad I would have trounced them.

Its all about the joystick really with SWOS. I've broken many a zipstick in the past after conceding last minute goals.

Can you get joysticks for the PC? And are they any good?

Dunno about the european club edition, but you can get the original SWOS  free, gratis and for nothing.

I did download one from Sonics place earlier. Also downloaded DosBox, but got highly confused. Its been a long while since I played with anything resembling Dos.

Then my cat sliced a hole in my hand. I'm in a foul mood right now.

This is quite possibly the best game ever made. I still play it (95/96 or 96/97 version, not sure) a lot and in my umpteenth season as Swindon, now in the Prem with Klinsmann and Chapuisat up front with Thomas Haessler and Paul Gascoigne pulling the strings in the midfield. Won the Premier League for the last 2 seasons because I am so heroic.

I'd like the 96/97 version but I'm happy with 95/96. I just did a few seasons on the old career mode. Then crashed it. Without Saving. The bastards. Won Div 2 first season, then finished 1 point out side the playoffs in Div 1 the next season. Thought I was about to make it into the prem.

Started again now with Leighton Orient for a bit of a challenge.

If you're using the keyboard try not using the arrow keys. When I have I've found it sometimes won't let me run diagonally and shoot. Try I/K/J/L with something like Z for shoot. Works quite well for me

Also when you're defending try not to start mashing the button. You'll end up sliding in, missing, and leaving a massive whole in your defence while your defender get's up. Try and time it right.

Cheers Ben - the cunting thing was starting to do my head in but I've solved the problem - just play as Germany and laugh when England score 5 :D  Defence is the main problem - one missed tackle and it's split open like a rotten melon plus the goalie's a bit on the shite side.  Still off to try again..

Without being able to run diagonally and shoot it's virtually impossible to score against the good keepers.

I found a tutorial on Abandonia, ran me through the whole thing in about 10 minutes.

One thing...If FB, or anyone else who knows....

I can only see about 1 of my squad, and I want to know where the rest of them are?! I know I have more as I bought some, and loads of my players are getting injured.

Page up or page down when the ball is out of play, depending on what way you're shooting.

i.e. if you're shooting up, page up brings up the bench.
