When the clocks change do you get an extra hours drinking time?

for the purposes of drinking it is assumed the clocks go back at closing time mate.

I think the clocks go back at 2.00am. If you're in a 24 hour establishment I guess you do get an extra hour. You'll lose it next March mind.

Extra hour to sleep it off though....

How can you get extra in a 24 hour establishment?  If it's a 24 hours job it would be open round the clock anyway - ok you may gain the hour but you could be in there for three hours more than you may usually be on any other night anyway...

Depends how you allocate the extra hour I suppose !

In the clubs I used to go to in the October you get an ectra hour as the clocks go back at 0200, so the second after 0159.59 it's 0100, so in a place that shuts at 0200, you do get an extra hour.

But that was the places I used to go to...

on this subject... i personally dont stay in bed the extra hour. does anyone else?

i would do, however, if it the clock was put back on sunday night because i know i have to get up for work.

i think there is a vote to be won here.

I'm sure I read somewhere that under English law, if a club shuts a 2am it has to actually shut at 1:59am, so if it shuts at 2 it has to shut exactly as the clocks change but if it normally shuts after 2am then you get the extra hour.

I generally spend an extra 2 hours in bed just to adjust.

I txt one of those answer services who answered: Yes if a drinking establishment's licensing hours cover the time at which the clocks change then they will gain an hour of drinking time.

I always asked the police who said the same thing, although in practice most place close at the normal time as if the clocks hadn't chnaged.

Ha ha. I moved down here in '95. Don't think Buds was even open then!

It was open in '95 but only small, they bought out the snooker hall a couple of years after and made it bigger.  Back then they had an under-18's night on a Wednesday where everyone would go to pick fights with groups of squaddies.  Aaaahhh, those were(n't) the days!

You didn't miss much. Handy stop off after an all day session in Bath or Bristol though, just before hitting the charcoal grill...

Hehe...me mate Des did that twice a year, EVERY year...got pissed off at me for not being at the agreed place when he was an hour early, and then made me an hour late...I soon got meself a car and drove meself (on time...unlike my tackles some of which are still arriving today  :wink: )
