argos have a binatone one for £100 and halfords have a sony for the same price.anyone own one? any reccomendations would be gratefully received. Title: sat navs Post by: Batch on Sunday, October 21, 2007, 13:27:04 Neither owned nor seen either of those.
Bought my mum a Garmin which is OK for the money. The other option is to go second hand/refurb 'brand name' but of course the guarantee is less/non existent. http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=4313 Title: sat navs Post by: Chubbs on Sunday, October 21, 2007, 13:36:28 get a tom tom....never had a problem.

Yep i've heard good things about them too.Title: sat navs Post by: kevjoycreed on Sunday, October 21, 2007, 15:50:01 I got my tom tom one from Halfords for £139. Tesco also had it for about the same price not so long ago, not sure if they still got it though. Mapping can be a bit dodgy in a place or two but on the whole excellent for the money.

Title: sat navs Post by: ronnie21 on Sunday, October 21, 2007, 18:31:27 I don't own one Arriba, but borrrowed a mates tom tom when I had to drive to Glasgow Airport. Getting to Glasgow is no bother for anybody but the motorway system that appears to criss-cross the city is a nightmare. We got there and got back onto the A82 to come home without the slightest difficulty.

Im excited as I can borrow it to go to Leeds Title: sat navs Post by: genf_stfc on Monday, October 22, 2007, 13:51:19 sounds like cheating to me, like using the instructions to assemble IKEA furniture or having golf lessons. i like to rely on twat-nav instead; wholy unreliable but more manly.
Title: sat navs Post by: Luci on Monday, October 22, 2007, 13:53:05 AA route finder for me but Leeds is an easy trip anyway. Don't need one!

Just be sure to have somebody to read out the instructions if you haven't bothered to memories them :-- Title: sat navs Post by: Nomoreheroes on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, 04:56:23 I borrow my in-laws TomTom the other day. Incredibly simple to use. Much better than the hand held Magellan I bought in the States a few years ago.
Heard that the Garmin is not so user friendly and the Navman is basically crap. Think there is a review on www.autoexpress.com somewhere. NMH Title: sat navs Post by: land_of_bo on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, 07:05:03 The Sony ones are shit, at least the one I have is...you can't update the maps and it's well out of date, I've had it about 18 months though, it was free with a laptop...
I also have a tomtom on my work PDA which is pretty good and you can update it. Title: sat navs Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, 08:55:27 Hurray our Tom Tom arrived this morning!! Im going to drive somewhere random just so I can use it

Title: sat navs Post by: A Gent Orange on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, 09:21:08 We bought a Garmin one for under a hundred quid as a present, I think it was from Amazon. It was exactly the same spec as the £130 one except that it is black and white.
