Part of me say's 'come on Georgia' but another part of me thinks that Scotland deserve to qualify for the Euro's as they've played good Football and have shown pride in the shirt that they play in.

I'm going to put some money on the Jocks beating the Ukraine.

Fucks sake beat the big teams with inspirational performances and then put in a gutless display against a Georgian team full of kids.

We really missed Scott Brown, Hutton and Naysmith tonight, players like Alexander, Murty just don't cut it for me.

Although I must remember we Scotish never do things the easy way so will have to settle for a home win against Italy, as crazy as it sounds I'm still hopeful  :)

I honestly think we have a good chance against the Italians at home.  Tonight we were always going to struggle for me, it had disaster written all over it.

A packed Hampden shaking to the foundations may prove inspirational against the world champions!!

I still remain positive strangely as most people wont give us a hope in hell.

I think it will help us that we have to win, if we had only needed a draw we would have approached the game too cautiously.  Hopefully Hampden will be a couldren again and the fans will roar us onto victory.

They have still done us proud in qualifying no matter what and I would of took going into the last game with a chance of qualifying in a home game.  So fingers crossed still onwards and upwards!

In a strange way, losing may have benefited Scotland.  If Scotland won tonight, then thet would have only needed 1 point to qualify.  They probably would have set out their stall to keep a clean sheet, and try and score a goal on the counter.

Now they know they have to beat Italy to qualify, so they should go out with a positive attitude from the start

I agree I'm more positive having to win then if we had to turn up sit back and go for a point.  We'd have blown that.

Scotland were awful tonight problem was Fletcher and Ferguson didn't want to put a tackle in cos they were scared of missing the Italy match, McFadden almost tried to win the match on his own, Kenny Miller went missing, Murty and Alexander weren't up to scratch, or should I say aren't international standard and Steven Pearson is fucking shit.

Leaving Weir, McManus and Gordon to try and keep the Georgians out and Maloney trying to run at the Georgians at every opportunity.

We were doomed from the off tonight.

Hampden will be a different story.

fletcher looked fucking awful. murty should be getting the tea for that team. i thought the midfield and wingers were no where near enough to miller and mcfadden so they had no where else to go but wind down alleys filled with about 3 georgians (ohhh errr)

As the guys on Sportscene said if at the start of the qualifying period you had said beat Italy at home and you qualify 99.9% of Scottish fans would have taken that.

Our destiny is in our hands.  With players like Brown, Hutton, Ferguson Fletcher, McFadden, Miller, Gordon all 100% (touch wood) and raring to go we'll have a chance.

In Fletchers defence that was his forst competitive game since the French away match, he's not fit, but he tried, that's all that counts in my book.  May have been a mistake to play him, but it was a gamble worth taking.

i'd rather be in your position than england's position tbh.

i really dislike fletcher, i know he wasn't fit but i really don't rate him. most of the scottish team i do though

To be fair he raises his game for Scotland, I think he does well for us.  I can see why Man Utd fans aren't so keen though.

At the end of the day, it's in their hands, unlike England, but the Italians are very good at drawing matches.

we missed Scott Brown badly last night he is the link between the midfield and attack. Fletcher shud not of played he was not match fit and why was he playing on the right side of the midfield. What made it worse last night was Lithuania holding on 80 mins the Henry scoring 2 in a minute.

I think he was the biggest miss for us as well.  He is now a key player in the Scotland team not one of the other midfielders can cover as much ground as him, he also has a big influence on the game as when he flies around into tackles he boosts the team and the crowd.  I really hope he will be 100% by the time Italy comes around.

My mate who goes to most of the games had some conspiracy theory that Uefa have instructed referees to be bioust towards the bigger teams to make sure the best teams get to the finals. Hence why the German ref didn't give them a stonewall penalty.

Just back from Tbilisi. Great trip ruined by a fucking inept performance from Scotland. Georgia wanted it way more than we did. Fletcher wasnt fit, and Murty was fucking terrible. Stonewall penalty in the first half and the second should was supposed to be a pen as well!



Wouldnt bloody suprise me, especially after the "unseeded" play off draw in 2002 where all the top seeds magically got drawn against the bottom seeds, and after making us reply the game that never was when the rules clearly state that we should have been awarded the win.

Oh well, a nice 1-0 at home on my birthday and all will be well.
