Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Amir on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:16:51 ...to Liverpool's friendship gesture.
http://gfx.dagbladet.no/pub/artikkel/4/42/428/428038/juve_epa.jpg It seems they may have a torrid time out in Turin. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Asher on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:19:58 yeah I can actually seeing istanbul again over there. The italians are crazy mothers......
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:20:27 I love the double standards coming out on this one. Don't see the Liverpool fans forgiving the Yorkshire police or the Sun and they didn't mean to cause any trouble. The scousers started a riot that led to 39 deaths, the italians are bound to be pissed off!
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Amir on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:22:38 Without wishing to generalise, the italians can be complete cowards and often go for small groups or stab people in the back from a moped. Hopefully they will manage to stick together out there.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Asher on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:23:19 yeah dont egt me wrong its there fault all right but jeez abyone going out there best be upo for it
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:26:33 Anyone with half a brain at the Sun should have apologised about the Hillsborough article again and then everyone would have seen the scousers as the hypocrites that they are!
I fucking hate Liverpool FC! Hope Everton finish 4th. Title: Juve fans reaction... I understand that people are bound to be pissed off, but you have to understand that what the Liverpool fans did was purely an accident as well. They 'ran' the Juve fans into a corner (the same as many teams fans have done in the past, including Swindon's), and unfortunately the wall collapsed. Also, please don't stick up for The Sun. They ignore the truth for a story, whatever damage it may do. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:37:22 Deaths through hooliganism is not an accident Amir. Or at least it's as much of an accident as someone going down the pub necking 10 pints and driving home and killing someone. Murder is murder.
If it was a relative of mine who died underneath that wall I don't think I be that forgiving, or that impressed with your comments, accidental death it was not. As for the sun, I'm not sticking up for them whatsoever, just pointing out the Liverpudlians double standards on the subject. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:44:19 Any Liverpool fans going over to Turin want their heads seeing to. It is going to be ugly over there. Mr Kahn is right about the Wops, they can be nasty fuckers. I really hope I am wrong but I can see some one getting stabbed over there. :(
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:45:02 I know that what happened at Heysel was wrong, but I seriously doubt that any of the Scousers set out to KILL somebody.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:46:53 But that's exactly what some of their lot will be doing!
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:47:36 it is that
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:49:02 R4E - That's not a very good arguement is it. Italians were killed whether the scousers meant it or not. The second leg will be very interesting!!

Or at least it's as much of an accident as someone going down the pub necking 10 pints and driving home and killing someone. Murder is murder. Drink driving is willingly endangering others lives. There is no way they could have possibly known the outcome of their actions that night. They are still to blame, but that is a ridiculous comparison. Quote If it was a relative of mine who died underneath that wall I don't think I be that forgiving, or that impressed with your comments I'm sure I wouldn't either, the point is that I'm looking at it objectively. Quote just pointing out the Liverpudlians double standards on the subject I agree. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Tails on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:51:24 What happens if Liverpool fans are killed??
Will all Italian clubs be banned for 5 years?? Banning all English clubs was ridiculous, although it did deny Oxford a place in Europe. At least Liverpool made the effort to make an apology...I can understand why the Juve fans reacted like they did. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 11:53:14 You have to say well done to Liverpool or everything they did to promote friendship between the two clubs, They couldn't have done any more and the Juve fans obviously weren't going to listen whatever was said!
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:02:07 I would say well done to the club, it was a good attempt, just got not much time for their supporters.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Marie on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:03:44 What happens if you have been brought up as a liverpool fan yet im half italian so all my family are wops?
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:05:22 Concentrate on Swindon, your local team and realise the error of your ways.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Marie on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:06:21 good shout.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:07:21 i don't know. What does happen?!
I can see why the Italians would be annoyed, upset etc about Heysel. Who wouldn't be. But that was like 20 years ago and surely the time comes when you have to forget these things. I think it was disgraceful how they shouted and chanted through the minute's silence, especially as it was in memory of THEIR PEOPLE! They have to see that Liverpool know how bad that was. Liverpool were punished, English football was punished, and they have done all that is possible to make up for it. Plus UEFA should never have held the final in a 30,000 crumbling stadium anyway... Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Amir on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:09:40 Quote Plus UEFA should never have held the final in a 30,000 crumbling stadium anyway... Absolutely right. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:11:17 Italians don't do minute's silences. When a famous Italian player dies during their "minutes silences" are minutes of chanting the players names and clapping and generally making as much noise as possible. I'm not sure if that is what happened yesterday though.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Asher on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:11:35 hang on your half italian? You wop. Please never talk to me again!
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: janaage on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:12:15 Yeah because the state of Europe's grounds were brilliant in the mid 80's. And they knew thatthe fans would be having a riot that night.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Marie on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:13:04 My mum ashley who you just told was a legend is italian. speaks fluent italian... shes making it now though ash!
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:14:17 Not the point!
If there is a risk of the ground FALLING DOWN then you shouldn't hold a European Cup Final there! Plus why hold it in a ground that only holds 30,000? There were much bigger stadiums around. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Asher on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:14:43 Shes a good lass, I love italians! Explains teh mean pasta last wek - yummy yummy
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Marie on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:15:56 back to the point ashley!!!
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: Asher on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:18:37 yeah agree uefa held it in a rubbish inadequate ground.
Blame them not the fans, the 80's were all about running fans and taking over all their grounds Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 12:20:15 I wouldn't go so far as to leave the fans blameless.....
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: sonicyouth on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 13:50:49 OK, I accept the double standards, UEFA's fuck up and all that, the way the Juve fans reacted was pathetic. It was a gesture of good intentions but the Juve fans chose to ignore it - why? Probably because they want to stab some Scousers next week.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 16:31:39 probably! :(

At least Liverpool made the effort to make an apology...I can understand why the Juve fans reacted like they did. English clubs were quite rightly banned from Europe. Just about every British club was going mental on the continent. Leeds and Glasgow Rangers were both given 2 year bans. But football was a bit different then, supporters were travelling to support clubs other than their own (and riot). As for the Italians reaction, I say fair enough. A lot of them probably knew people who died at Heysel. I thought the reaction was pretty mixed anyway. Bear in mind that was Juve's most hardcore supporters so the reaction maybe more conciliatory in Italy. Not that I care anyway. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 16:35:15 i'm not bothered about what Juve fans think of Liverpool's efforts, I;m just concerned about what might happen in Turin!
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: DMR on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 18:51:16 The segregation is going to be massive surely
Unfortunately, at the best of times the upper tier chuck shit loads of bottles at the away fans down below. The scousers will be dodging them fireworks I tell thee. Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: yeo on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 18:54:14 They have just reported on 5 live that Scousers have been able to get tickets in the Juve sections,Rather them that me they'll get fuckin killed.
Title: Juve fans reaction... Post by: DMR on Wednesday, April 6, 2005, 18:57:59 Oh, another point about these peace gestures.
Apparantly (off screen) 5 scousers with Juve gear on walked up to the away section with friendly messages on a flag. They got coined to such an extent they had to run. |
