Will there be more protests ?

May be a shit idea but if you all intend to sit in the arkells again it may be worth trying to get the seats all at the same time.

Depends if we still have a club by then I guess but I think that there should be more.  One night in the JPT isn't enough IMO and at least on a Saturday there will be more people (esp not having a game for nearly 2 weeks).

I had not anticipated how busy the Arkells would be last night so ended up sat all over the place.

protests have to continue now to keep up the pressure and media should be advised accordingly.

It needs to stay the forefront of everyone’s attention if it is to be effective. We need fans calling into radio stations, writing to the adver. Doing whatever possible to make sure you gain momentum. The Trust meeting Monday should help with that if the Trust are voted to back protests etc.

Seemed as if the whole thing was going no where at half time,livened up for us after we moved in the second half.

We need to walk from down down fleming way, past b&q along that road. Get the road closed (obviously organised) so it creates disruption to saturday shoppers. Which will then create publicity....

I think more people will join in the sooner we organise something.

The sooner something is organised - and pointed out that it's peaceful, it'll get the police onside and hopefully the more reluctant fan that fears there could be trouble too.

i think it would get loads of press coverage.plus people who dont want to be associated with sit down,abusive chanting ect would take part too.
plus we dont want people with no interest in football seeing town fans as yobs causing trouble do we?

The best vehicle for such a protest Is the Trust. This should be raised at the Trust meeting Monday as they have the necessary resources to publicise such action, although we didn’t do bad yesterday.

I'm with this idea.  Ask people to bring along pro Swindon Town regalia as well as protest stuff against the Board.  It'll clearly be small fry in comparison but a mini recreation of 1990 might sprak some people into action - families joined in that day.

Was a good way to raise awareness about Brighton when they had their fans day thing, if we had loads of different colours on display it would show it's not only us that care.

There must be fans of other clubs who wouldn't want to see us out of business...

If a march is going to be done we need the co-operation of the police. How much notice do they need to close a road off?

Traffic can still get into town via groundwell road. My only concern would be the buses.

What and completely screw up the bus route on a saturday and cause traffic carnage?  The magic round about is bad enough as it is.

I thought they would need more notice to do this in order to re-arrange public transport/diversions.

Even if there is 100-250 of us with banners etc it would make a statement and invite the media along as a peaceful protest.

You would get a police escort, which would include batton action from our friends in blue etc

Just so people aware, TUMDFC have funds available (around £150) if we need them for protest purposes - I'm sure the original donors would agree this is a suitable purpose for their money!

I would suggest as many as possible turn up to the TRUST meeting on Monday.

I'm on a training course at Bradford University Monday/Tuesday so someone will have to tell me what was said.  I'm assuming someone will be minute taking?

I spoke to a reporter at The Sun yesterday they was reasonably interested and told me that would ask their 'local agency' to look into it.

Tbh it is probably something the Sunday's would get their teeth into, proably worth someone giving them a call armed with some info they may or may not be interested, but it gives them time to do some investigation, perhaps the People would be interested after what they exposed about us all those years ago

We have not had protests officialy ratified by members as yet, so at the moment it would need to come from 'a concerned supporter' I expect

Don't post very often, but here goes:

As in 1990, Initial meeting point: Faringdon Road Park.  Its a large open space in which it will be easy to contain the group until ready for the off.  The OB can control the crowd much more easily and from the point of view of the march itself, it will be easy to have one single meeting point.  Its about a mile as the crow flies to the CG.

Straight down Faringdon Rd, through the bottom of town, past the bus station, down Manny Road to the ground (or past B&Q)

Road closures will have to happen but they will be for a matter of minutes  and as the procession moves along its route, can be re-opened.

The purpose of the march has to be clear and the message sent out needs to be to the point:

Send a clear message (specifically to the Greek and Wills) that they should pack their bags and leave now.  Their bank balances might be important to them, but the survival of STFC means much more to the fans, to the wider community and the town as whole.

This will never reach the level of attendance that 1990 reached (around 10k if I recall) but if there is 1k in attendance it will have been a success.

The Trust need to take the lead.  Leadership and organisation is going to be KEY to this being succesful.

Anyone can join the Trust anytime they like, they can do it via the trust site or there will be forms around matchdays and on monday evening.
