just gone there to get some game time after his hernia op I believe ... but to be honest Blackpools keeper has been awful of late so bit suprising especially as it means he misses the Carling Cup Trip to Spurs

But Evans has been aweful for Pool to when he's played! Made some horrendous errors there

Being as Rich is making the most of the net and getting greedy with new topics my post in t'other thread has been deleted, for you lucky souls that means you get to read it again:

Fair doos really, he's not good enough for the Championship but ought to be playing somewhere - he wouldn't get into our reserves at the moment in League 1, so by that logic League 2 is now his level.

Agreed but a lot of those were when he had his hernia injury and was playing with it due to Blackpool not having any other keeper fit at the time .. sadly it was a bit of a mistake which he got no credit for off Grayson

I think he will do well at Bradford .. FAR TOO GOOD for League 2

We all know that you've got a bit of love for rhys having trained him when he was 5 or something fatters. But I don't think he's far too good for league 2. He might make a good league 2 keeper but I don't think he's too good for it.

When did Rhys Evans ever win a game for us?

Took his replacement 1 game to do the same. Sounds like you've still got the blinkers on. He's not very good.

What a dick. "I don't want to play in league 2" so he leaves us. 12 months or so later he's plying his trade exactly where he didn't want to be. Should have stayed with us  :D

Evans is/was shit and proof if ever was needed that playing for the England under 21 team means very little. He got player of the season because ummmm he lived in Swindon and no one else deserved.

He couldn't catch, was an arrogant wanker and thought he was better than he was and probably still does. I love the way he blames his shit kicking on having one leg longer than the other..........what a shit excuse.  League 2 is his level at best, although there are better keepers in the non-league.

Has been since midseason last year. Well he was dropped after about 5-10 games I think and has been phased out ever since and as mentioned think we loved him because he was a swindon lad.

People always slate him for being cocky etc but in fact he was a model proffessional.  He would go out and drink a glass of red wine and then water and drive.  He is actually a genuine nice guy

I for one hope he climbs the league again

People hate him cos he left to play at a higher level, simple.  If he had stayed we wouldnt of had smith.

true.  its clear smith and brez are both better than him so him leaving wasnt such a bad thing with hindsight.

I was always a big supporters of Evans....thought he was a good keeper.

You generally dont get on the books at Chelsea for no reason, then we got Phil Smith from non-league who appears to be better in every department.......very weird really.

I felt his game got worse when he was here, I guess not having a goal keeping coach didnt help....

but, he got worse here.

Wouldnt want him back over Smith or Brez though....

yeah, part-time and i think that was only matchdays :?

evans was a decent keeper but his stalling over contract was daft.

He couldn't kick, he couldn't command his box, he wasn't great at coming for crosses the list is endless.  He was a very good shot stopper but that was it nothing else to his game.  The best way to sum it up is he thinks he's better than he is.......

So you didnt think he was very good. fair enough -you are entitled to you opinion. But that still dosnt answer why you hate him

I was never a fan of his to be honest. I won't say i hate him as thats a bit strong - how can you hate someone that you don't know personally?
He's probably a genuine, nice guy.
However, i didn't rate him much as a goalkeeper and still don't.
