What the hell is going on?

I heard that the holdup is centred around the CVA, surely who/who doesnt pay the CVA should have been settled long ago?[/quote]

they flew out to Portugal to have talks with Jose Mourinho.

They want him to replace Sturrock.

In the next few days exect Sturrock to be back for poor results. Only scoring 4 against Bournemouth. Pfft.

Who told you that?  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

To be honest i'm glad you've bought this up as it means that it's not the case at all and couldn't be further from the truth, implying that the CVA has nothing to do with any hold up and al is well.

Thanks Bart

hmmm given the fact the CVA was mentioned in the BBC radio Swindon interview I dont think the CVA has anything to do with them not being at the game.

isn't it about the bill power thing as well? if so, you can hardly blame them for not wanting to bail out diamandis and co for something that is/was their issue.

the cva, however, is tricky. in one respect, it's not their problem. the consistent failures of the board over the past five or six years has caused the club to lurch through cva payments, keeping it's head barely above water. on the other hand, if they don't pay it they'll have no club to buy.

it wouldn't surprise me if diamandis is playing silly buggers again, it's not as if he's never done it before is it?

Title: No little or Brevitt today

I'd be suprised that if there is a problem that it is anything to do with the CVA/Power. The situation of each were well documented via the media weeks in advance, due dilligence would surely have delved even deeper before the 'exchange' of contracts.

When we met him, Jim Little was very clear that they would pay the CVA along with the other long-term debts when they took over. And that has been consistently taken as a basic in comments by all sides. So if it is a sticking point now, it would seem to be quite a turn-round from what was being taken as a given just a few weeks ago.

I reckon that the sellers are playing silly buggers and won't sign over the club until it's paid and the buyers won't pay until the club is sihned over to them. Hence crazy stalemate action.

I've just made that story up though, but it sounds good, admit it.

Well, yes, except that that's what exchanging contracts in any deal is all about - you pay the monies owed when the contracts are signed and exchanged. It's a basic of any business deal. In that respect, it's a lot like buying a house .....

I think what Bob said, was that it was like buying a louse.

Complicated by all sorts of quarantine, export/import regs and the fact its just plain scary.

Look at the problems caused by this bad boy.

It was found in the home dressing room showers, so quite likely.....nah only joking.....its easy to confuse the familiar wood louse type critter, which is an isopod, or member of the crustacea genus.....with the less familiar for some of us, headlouse type critter, which is an insect.

The bad boy in the pic is a marine isopod hence its giganticism.

Those giant isopods types tend to be solitary scavengers which aren't above a bit of cannibalism. I think if you put 4 together you'd soon have only 1 or 2.

They'd be pretty ace in some sort of real life pokemon game.

I thought our friendly giant cousins of the woodlouse only lived in proper deep waters? I was under the impression that manatees like to stay in shallower waters. Hence why they are often ripped up by boats. Poor things.

That was horribly worded, even for me. I originally said Our giant woodlice cousins,  but that made it sound like humans had evolved closely with some giant woodlice, which is silly. Then I tried to edit it and confused myself. I think you can see what I meant.

Not as silly as it may seem....it is thought that vertebrates, so also humans evolved a central nervous system, out of invertebrate marine creatures like the sea squirt.

The seas squirt, basically takes in fluids and squirts them out....bit like some birds.

I'm sure our giant isopod friends are relieved that the Dysdera crocata ("woodlouse hunter") didn't go down a similar evolutionary path of Deep-sea gigantism. Imagine a big fuck of aquatic one of these hunting you down.

Not sure about aquatic spiders, but you do get air-borne spiders, which can travel vast distances....by making kite tail type structures from their threads.....they can go up to the stratosphere....here though they can become food for swifts, who can fly at 10,000 ft.

I've always thought it good news that chitin, the material from which arthrpods are composed, doesn't allow the buggers to get to big.
