Title: Sam Collins Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Saturday, September 22, 2007, 07:44:21 Morning all! No exclusive scoop I'm afraid it is in the adver this morning, he only played 8 games last season though and is recovering from a knee injury. Sturrock certainly likes to bring in his players that need to regain match fitness!

the sam collins story is in the western daily press today, 4 other clubs are in for him too. he played with billy paynter at port vale so maybe that'll swing things in our favour. Title: Sam Collins Post by: ronnie21 on Saturday, September 22, 2007, 09:15:26 I posted that on Thursday evening on another thread. See how long it takes for the papers to catch the TEF up!!! ( I heard it on Radio Swindon, no mention in "our official comunication partner" - the pathetic Brunel Radio!!!)
Title: Sam Collins Post by: land_of_bo on Saturday, September 22, 2007, 09:23:03 What about Olivier Bernard...reckon he would drop 2 divs to get playing again???
Title: Sam Collins Post by: Peter Venkman on Saturday, September 22, 2007, 09:39:25 I dont think we need Collins as Blackburn will step up to the mark and excel in defence.

No I dont think he would. Title: Sam Collins Post by: Reeves for King on Saturday, September 22, 2007, 09:42:10 No point in signing more bastard defenders we've got 50,000 and don't need any more - has Sturrock not noticed that it is the other end of the pitch where we need players as we have an ineptitude at scoring goals?
Title: Sam Collins Post by: DV on Saturday, September 22, 2007, 09:45:59 whilst we're on about centre backs? has there been an update about Adie Williams injury/fitness?
Plus, you are all (rightfully) forgetting that Portugese centre back we signed the other week! Title: Sam Collins Post by: herthab on Saturday, September 22, 2007, 09:52:00 Almeida?
Thought he looked handy against Brentford. Title: Sam Collins Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, 19:15:33 Surprised nobody has mentioned we have signed Sam Collins on loan (subject to paperwork).
He hasn't played for about a year due to injury so will take time to settle in. Title: Sam Collins Post by: Sussex on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, 19:22:16 I try to limit my use of thisis to the headline stories each morning.
Now look what you've made me do :) Title: Sam Collins Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 25, 2007, 19:26:02 Ohhhh man, you have to embrace thisis. Fight against it and it'll wind you up more and more until you snap.
PS. I heard it on BBC RS at 6:30. Title: Sam Collins Post by: Mister Lorenzo on Friday, September 28, 2007, 13:09:31 He's signed on loan for a month - confirmed on the official site.
Title: Sam Collins Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Friday, September 28, 2007, 13:24:36 he looks a bit rough in the pictures on the OS
Title: Sam Collins Post by: Red81 on Sunday, September 30, 2007, 13:42:36 Those of you who went to the game. What are your views on Collins' performance?

collins was a big lad and quite vocal from what i remember, he and ifil seemed to understand each other already which was good to see. i'm not the best at remembering things at matches though so i'm sure someone else will give you a more technical viewpoint. They're not my type to be honest, never liked the whole cock and balls thing on a potential shag. :D Although in your defence it may not be a mis-spelling and may just mean you had a complete inability to search for them properly on google. According to Willy Donachie, the reason we won was that we had more 'big strong men' than they did. Which I suppose is just what you need at this level. Title: Sam Collins Post by: DMR on Sunday, September 30, 2007, 16:56:55 I seem to recall Collins being proper solid. Both in terms of performance and hard-man stature.
Title: Sam Collins Post by: suttonred on Sunday, September 30, 2007, 17:09:57 He won every ball in the air, but I think it was collins that made the error that led to their goal, although overall he was excellent

Title: Sam Collins Post by: Lumps on Monday, October 1, 2007, 11:09:20 I still don't quite understand how one day the squad is apparently a bit too big, and then next we go out and get a loan signing at centre half where we've got 6 or 7 first team squad players capable of playing there.
OK could say take Ady off that list as a long term injury, and Hasney as he's crocked as well, but that still leaves: Blackburn Almeida Nicholas Vincent All of which play or have played at C/H. It raises some questions about the Almeida signing, and about whether Luggy's already made his judgement of Blackburns potential.
