Title: Mobile Internet Post by: Luci on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 09:11:13 Does anyone know with regards to mobile internet are you charged for browsing or just connection?
The reason I ask is I stupidly knocked the internet button on my phone the other evening and when I woke up it was still on. The page however didn't change from the front page but I don't know if I will get charged for this or not? Anyone know? :? Title: Mobile Internet Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 09:15:27 £4/min if it's not part of a pre-paid package.
Only joking, usually it's done by usage, i.e. per Mb. It won't be too much (if anything) - depends on the provider. Title: Mobile Internet Post by: Luci on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 09:21:22 I'm with O2 and although Im on contract, I don't really know what I get with my contract internet wise.

It should say on your bill what you are entitled too hun Title: Mobile Internet Post by: magic8ball on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 09:28:48 I used to be with O2, and I'm almost positive its charged per Mb as Batch said.
So, it shouldn't cost you much at all. Title: Mobile Internet Post by: Batch on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 09:32:16 If you haven't changed from the front page you shouldn't be charged anything if you are entitled to 1MB free (and haven't used it yet). If you don't have the entitlement or have used it you should be charged a max £3 for 1Mb unauthorised use, if they do it pro-rata it'll be pennies.
If in doubt ring their CS and double check. FYI: O2 £3 per MB if you don't have any package (well it was in March 07), but the 1st 1MB usage should be included in your package. Top-up 'packages (extras) from £5 for 5MB. Title: Mobile Internet Post by: Spud on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 09:49:57 For your sake i hope you get 9 hours all inclusive web minutes.
Title: Mobile Internet Post by: Luci on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, 10:51:08 Quote Your tariff includes 1.0 Mb GPRS (General Packet Radio Service), as part of your GPRS allowance. If you access the Internet from your phone, you won't be charged for connecting to web. You'll only pay for sending and downloading data. If you use GPRS, you're always connected and pay for the information that you send or receive. If you download a WAP page using GPRS, you'll only be charged the cost of the download. A WAP page is usually about 2 to 6 Kb in size but this can depend on how many icons are on the WAP page. On average one megabyte will download 150 to 200 web pages. Phew thank god for that. |
