Title: Resident Evil
Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, September 11, 2007, 20:46:54
Purchased the GameCube remake today. Not that I don't have enough things to play through at the moment but meh, I couldn't resist. And after resisting the temptation to pick up Ikaruga (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ikaruga) for an extortionate £20, I settled my buying urge with Resident Evil.

Went for the character which had breasts, soon after being told to explore my half of the bottom floor I got annoyed about not being able to open a door, despite clicking use on my lock-pick. This is when I thought I'd go and see how my mansion buddy was doing but I couldn't find him on his half.

This is where I created a new version of the game called running around randomly taunting zombies.

This has turned out to be brilliant fun. It's also meant that I've lost all the fear  aspect of the game. MWAHAHAHA you zombie fools.

I've heard Resident Evil is really good, and that the gamecube remake is awesomeness. Shall I persevere with it or just go back to Gameboy Zelda (the bestest of all the Zeldas) on my awesome Gamecube Gameboy player.

I just tried to play it properly and died. I figured I had to push this thing around to get a shiney thing on a statue (It's one of the clips if you leave it on the menu for a bit). That set the zombie free and he ate me :D. Being killed is quite fun though.

I'm not really a fan of those types of games but for some reason I bought the FEAR gold pack thing. That's a pretty scary game.

It's quite fun. I've never played any of these modern things. It's a bit like that old school Alone in The Dark game, but less French.

I had that for the Acorn A5000.

Took me fucking ages to figure out what was going on and even then I didn't really know.

Resident evil is a good game. A little american but good. Every Zelda though is a near masterpiece.

I have no idea if they exist. The Gamecube ones are pretty common, they have them in that CEX (or whatever it's called in town) and you can pick up a Gamecube for about a £10-£20 now. Lot's of good games to get too.

Nah Zelda II (nes) is poor. Not sure about the double release Colour GameBoy ones. Think they're pretty rare and going for the pokemon buy both games bollocks.

Also I think Ocarina of Time is horribly over-rated. So meh.

ok fair point. I should've just said. Zelda III on the snes is by far the greatest. How's the games anyhow? Pleasing purchases?

Ace purchases. Although I haven't played anything apart from GB Zelda yet. I still think GB Zelda is better than the Snes one, but it's a close second.

You look after your games well. Everything I've looked at is in proper mint condition. I've got vary few games like that left. Especially the older ones.

Yeah everything I own is pretty much in mint condition. I just naturally put things back in their box when finished with them. I have 2 snes's somewhere and zelda III. even better, a game called Secret Of Mana. It's immense. I also had  a game called suikoden on ps1 which is now going for £70ish on ebay, yet I can't seem to find it anywhere?? In fact, it's fucking scary how much stuff I have.. makes me look like a right geek.

I could never get into Secret of Mana. You won't be able to get hold of a cartridge, but it's sequel Seiken Denestu 3 (or something) is well worth playing if you can be bothered to get hold of the rom and an emulator.

Yeah the Secret Of Evermore. I found it in a shop a few years ago for about £60, didn't buy it though. I have every single snes game released on emulator format. 758 to be exact. Well I did on my old pc :(

Nah wait, Secret of Evermore is poo. I meant the sequel to that. It was only released in Japan.

Hmm... I don't recall playing it. I might have to dig my old hard drive out and see if the games are still on it.

I don't think Secret of Evermore is actually the proper sequel, I think they just released it with that title in America/Europe or something.

This is the game I was thinking about. Well worth playing. Goes for a somewhat multiple-beginnings strategy. Works quite well.

Yeah it looks familiar. I always thought Secret Of Mana was FFIV but how wrong I was informed. The old rpg's were the best. I still think the snes was the best console ever created.

The American / Japanese Numbering before FFVII is well confusing

It goes
FF1 (nes) Both Japan and America
FF2 (nes) Just Japan
FF3 (nes) Just Japan
FF4 (Snes) FF2 in America
FF5 (Snes) Just Japan
FF6 (Snes) FF3 In America

Since FF456 have been re released as that in America on the playstaion, which increases confusion.

VII & IX the only ones that made an impact.

VI is my favourite one. Well worth playing through a couple of times.

I may give it a blast. It's on the psx i think. I may have to just get the emulator back again. saying that I just ordered my ps3 so the likelihood i'll play it is pretty slim.

FF6/3 is a Snes jobby, much easier to emulate it on that. The Psx version just adds FMV's, but also loads of loading time. I'll PM you the Snes Rom if you want?

Zsnes is the best Snes emulator. you can get it from www.zsnes.com

On the subject of Snes games, Chrono Trigger is the best square RPG released, but never made it to Europe (bastards). You can have that as well.

Cool. I did have that too (rom). A great game.

Yeah give me half an hour to sort out interneting them.

Of course I'm not really going to do it because otherwise Whits could get in trouble with the copyright police. Seriously.
