I did think there apparent calmness in front of camera was odd, but that doesn't mean they did it.

Being a suspect in Portugal is similar to helping the police with there enquires whilst under caution here isn't it? i.e. you get a lawyer, the right of silence, etc.

The parents should have been prime suspects from the start. In the majority of cases like that the killer will me somebody a friend/member of the family. Mystery abductors are stupidly rare, despite what the papers will want you to believe.

Regardless of whether they killed her or not they should have the other children taken off of them and done for neglect just as i would be if i crossed the road to the shop and left my 8yr old alone.

If she it was her/her husband or both, they've taken a massive gamble trying to double bluff the whole world and it's media!  How much time was there from when Maddie went missing to when it was headline news cos they wouldn't have had much chance to dispose of the body after that.  All or some of their friends would have to be in on the secret and one of them would have blabbed by now.  The biggest worry is that the coppers, having had made no progress at all, have started to plant evidence to fit people up.

As far as I've gathered from portugese law, you seem to officially declare people as prime suspects or something. Surely the parents should have been prime suspects straight off. Would have been easier to prove disprove back however many hundreds of months this girls gone missing.

To be honest I don't really care anymore. Too much media hype has left me bored of the whole thing. It's pretty clear that the little girl is dead by now. So meh. Thousands of other kids have gone missing/died/murdered/raped in this time and I haven't given any of them a thought.

We've only got the parents word for it as to when she went "missing". I guess the idea is that they could have disposed of the body first, and then staged to dissappearance during their meal.

Point number 1: They weren't 'left in thier house on their own' They were left under the assurance that they would be checked every 10 minutes.

Point number 2: I never said that what they did was right, what I said was that surely losing a child is more than enough to cope with, without people who don't know all the facts/situation jumping on them.

Point number 3: Yes I have a son. He's managed to get to 17 yrs old with my bad parenting, well done to him.

I lost him once when he was 5. He wondered off when I was looking at some shirts in a department store. I suppose if something had happened to him I would be slated by all and sundry because I wasn't paying enough attention............

They were said to be checking their kids every 10 minutes, no one else... there was a childcare service on offer which they didn't deem necessary.

It's the thing about the story that always seemed strange. These were mature, educated, professional people, not a pair of clueless, feckless kids. I couldn't understand how they'd do such a thing.

And I have to say that, like a lot of other people, I've watched the media coverage of this whole thing thinking if this was the kid of a 17 year old single parent abducted from her council flat in Walcot whilst she was drinking cider in the Bulldog would the press coverage be quite so sympathetic.

We're talking about a missing possibly dead child and it seems to me that people are so desperaste to blame someone they will blame anyone.The Mcanns have been courting publicity in an attempt to keep the storey in the headlines,these things are sadly forgotton about all to soon and if it takes making a Blog,meeting the Pope  or whatever to keep it "current" then they have done the right thing.They made a stupid decision in leaving the chidren but people do stupid things all the time,parenting isnt an exact science.

Personaly I think people want them to have done it,because they are middle class professional people , because they are religous and because we all want someone to blame.I think theres a sort of reverse snobbery in play here.

The whole thing makes me very sad,the Police evidence so far seems vague at best and the Portugese Police havent exactly seemed the best .Until something is PROVEN I see two parents who have lost a child and are desperate to find her not murderers trying to cover their tracks and I still hope shes found.

The McCanns did not move the body after 25 days as her body wouldnt be able to be moved without being seen.  A corpse would have left a mark that wopuld have been traced.  Its not here 100% certain
