Cool. Luke Wright is a good player. Hopefully we finish it off today but i can see it going to the last game and us doing the inevitable and losing of course.

Luke Wright was a bit handy too, 50 off 39 balls then run out by a good bit of fielding. If he can bowl too he'll be gold.

Sunil Gavarskar was practically grooming him on the Radio.

After investigation the cause of the backup failure was there being a bad block on last nights tape.
It would be advisable to mark this tape for future reference if future backups fail using this media.
I have prepared the server for tonights backup, please insert tonights tape in the server.
This call will be in CUSACT pending the results of tonights backup.

p.s. SHUT UP

Great century from Shah  :D

Five sixes off the last five balls by Mascarenhas too :beers:

Good effort by the lads to reach 316-6,at least makes it a game.

As far as know none of Shahs parents are English, Warne is half-German due to his mother

England will win with that score

Our fielding was pretty poor today, it really was Indian style fielding.

Not quite as bad as Ganguly mind. He chased a four he could easily have caught and just gave up about 2 feet before he caught up with it. Didn't look to chuffed at having to run for Sachin either.

Yet again another fantastic match, the tension at the end was almost unbearable.Shame about losing the game but lets face it a year ago we would have been bowled out for under 250 and the Indians would have chased down the target by the 35th over.We actually look like we will win games now and we haven't been able to say that for a while. So chin up everybody, the 20/20 World cup starts on the 11th

Utappa Sweep shot of Broad with 8 needed was the cheekiest shot i have ever seen but it was effective and but the nail in the coffin. I thought we won it when Broad got Dhoni out. Saturday at Lords is going to be tense.

Yes true but any team who scores 316 should defend it. We didn't. Not a hope in hells chance for that 20/20 thing. Complete waste of time for the team to even bother flying out if i'm honest.

Normally yes, but at the Oval, they've brought in the boundary, and the outfield is quick, as proved with the two 20-20 games earlier in the year against the Windies.

The 20-20 World Cup is open. Hopefully we'll do OK as we've bough in some 'specialists' like Luke Wright. It'll be interesting to see how India plays in 20-20, as they've never played it before !!

i think, rich, that because cricket is a game that goes on for 8 hours a day it's too much time wasted if you start throwing your toys out of the pram when the result doesn't go the right way

it was an amazing game of cricket. just enjoy it for that. yes we'd all have preferred england to win but you have to take pleasure from innings like tendulkar's because they are simply brilliant to watch

cricket is a game of sitting back and watching it evolve as opposed to the high tempo, high on emotion game of football. you can't treat them both the same. carry on this way and you'll give yourself a heart-attack

Cricket is a game of sitting back and ignoring it and getting drunk instead. That's my experience of it whenever they bung it on in the pub anyway.

And to those that watch it and don't get excited by it - what's the point? It's like that shit poor excuse for porn they used to put on channel 5 after pub kick out time. No point in it whatsoever.

I suppose the storylines were a bit good sometimes though

Although I do not support England I have spent many a summer watchin g all their matches on bbc1 and c4, just as cricket get popular due to the ashes win the ECB sale the rights to sky so not everybody has access to it, which I think is scandelous

I had no problem with the game itself or Tendulkars innings which was a great knock. It's the fact that Enlgland are shit that pisses me off. I don't care how good the opposition are i just want to see my team win. And when they bat well and blow it away it's even worse. We all get pissed off when Town lose. It's the same with English cricket or any other sport for me.
