Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: herthab on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 06:18:52 After the excitement of last nights late, late transfer deals I'm hoping that events on the pitch will keep me smiling!
All the players now have to perform to keep their places, knowing that there is a replacement waiting in the wings. I think we'll win 3.1. Goals from Blair, Roberts and Aljorfree or Ifil. Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: Bennett on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 06:33:06 i just hope we see these new signings paraded on the pitch before the game :D

Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: magic8ball on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 08:07:44 As long as we win, I don't care. Important to keep up the unbeaten streak, and you can't go far wrong winning your home games and drawing on the road.
I'll say 1-0, because I'm not sure how capable we are of scoring anymore! Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: Red81 on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 08:11:38 I just think Sturrock will perform well again today. The applause he got at Cheltenham must have done his confidence some good.

Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: jimbob on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 09:26:35 mate is a brighton fan who went to the crewe game away and reckoned they were SLICK up front, but did say it was MAYO & BUTTERS who appeared to getting SLICED open all the time due to their lack of pace.
obviously with Jerels pace this shouldn't happen to us but I'm going for a 1-1 draw today with Peacs hitting the onion bag. Talking of pace, does anyone recall that 38yr old furlong pissing past jack smith v luton the other week? Now, he is either quick or smith is lacking a bit? Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 09:29:04 I think we'll win today. Thye have come off the back of a 2-0 home defeat to Orient and they'll be low on confidence. We'll be high on it (or at least we should be) 2-0.

Post by: DV on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 16:34:14 we had so many chances, we should have put the game to bed in 45.
Crewe first half passing was awful, they must have thought they were playing in red or something. When Pook hit that shot at the end I thought that was the win :( Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: Luci on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 16:49:44 Pook got MOM today. Fair play, took his goal well and put in some good challenges.
Some distribution was a tad dodgy but can be forgiven for the goal. Vincent disappointed a little today, mianly for the goal we conceeded but on a positive Comminges looked good and Mohammed looked sharp when he came on - would definitely like to see more of him. Funny that Crewe appartnely only brought 90 fans and the only ones singing were a group of around 10 pikeys behind the goal! Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: Bennett on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 16:50:04 yes....but on the positives...we hopefully will be able to put teams as poor as crewe to bed inside 45 mins.

still should have been won by half time, and our build up play in the first half was a joy to watch. pook and easton were superb in the engine room, but mom was ifil by a mile.barring one stray pass he was faultless today with countless interceptions and timed challenges Title: Swindon versus Crewe Matchday Thread. Post by: Give us an S on Saturday, September 1, 2007, 17:27:53 I thought we played very well. We should have won yes, and these draws are frustrating but we now have a couple of new strikers and Corr to still come back. We never expected much this season anyway so im happy with the start and the performances put in. I think its silly that people are booing or being negative already.

Vincent wasnt at his best, Peacock was very poor and i think Blair struggles up front although cant fault him for effort. Ifil, Aljorfree, Smith at the back all had good games. Robert, Easton, Pook were all effective in midfield for most of the game. Peacock was his usual battling self. I've given Blair the benefit of the doubt and no one can deny at Nam he looked quite good, but on todays evidence, the sooner Paynter, or Cox, are in the side, the better. There were times today when I felt sorry for him cos he looked lost. Vincent was pretty poor and so was Zaboub. Why does everyone love him? Maybe Pook should start wearing gloves and changed his name to Ahktar, we'd all love him then! Hopefully this is the last game where we see so many chances squandered. As the players tired and got a little frustrated, our passing became a little sloppy, but it's still early days and we will only improve. Like everyone else has said, we would have taken 6 points from 4 games at the start of the season.... Thought Peacock, Ifil, Aljofree and Pook all played really well and at times Zaaboub and Roberts were threatening. My MOTM though was Easton. What a signing he is! He covers every blade of grass and is just superb. Maybe at fault for their goal a little, as he got caught ball watching, but apart from that, he was fantastic.
