Title: Millwall - 29th September
Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, August 24, 2007, 10:27:56
Didn't realise this fixture was so soon  :D

Should be a bit of a hoot.

I'll be on the train for this one I think. Cheapest journey to Paddington is two singles at £20.50.

I'm in London anyway by then so I shall definitely be going! Hopefully it will be the perfect start to Freshers fortnight!!!

I'm sure people will have plenty of pubs to suggest, but I think it's probably best to stay away from Millwall until the game :o

I'll be in Eastbourne by then and it's the Saturday at the end of my Freshers week so will be buzzing!  Think a few of us will be coming up for it

My boss is a Millwall "fan". I went to Millwall west ham the other year the media were predicating a riot the size of the poll tax riots in the end all that happen anywhere local was a few bottles thrown.

It is no worse that say Swindon V Bristol.

Have also been to a few other games at Millwall and I have seen mroe trouble at Swindon games than I have at Millwall!

Extra couple of quid?!!! I get in the Town End for £12. So that's an extra £8 for the same standard of football. As for travelling, I'll be in London anyway so that's not an issue!

Millwall vs Swindon is exactly the same standard of football as Swindon vs Millwall, for which a student ticket will cost £12.

Good point. Closing the nearest tube isnt going to stop STFC fans making their own way their instead of the "special" buses is it?

Its fucking stupid.  :wanker:

Bit of info posted by a Millwall fan on MoS:

Quote
South Bermondsey station is closed so your best bet is to get the tube to Surrey Quays or get a train to New Cross Gate. Both options mean you have to walk about 15 - 20 minutes. The Surrey Quays route leads you straight to the away end, while the New Cross Gate route means you have to walk through Cold Blow Lane and past the home end, not something many of you will want to do.

Also DO NOT drink around the ground, drink around London Bridge or somewhere else up town.

Have a good day out, you'll probably beat us but hey ho.

Sussex, had a bit of a chat with a few mates who've been to Millwall and it's not really a "football type" problem, more to do with the fact that it's a pretty tough area and they are not wildly tolerant of outsiders - so any folk drinking in small groups will probably be seen as an easy mark for a quick mugging.  So the advice you posted about people having a beer in the centre holds pretty good.  I've never been so for all I know it might be a great place to eat jellied eels and have a right old Chas and Dave type knees up but I somehow doubt it .

Now I've had time to regain my memory, these were my memories of Saturday:

- Si's wet jumper.
- Lady really not believing we all knew what bukkake was + the ensuing conversation on the train.
- Mad scramble for 20p's when we got to Paddington, then Fred going missing for 20 minutes.
- £3.80 for a pint of Peroni  :o
- Me spilling half my pint down me
- Sunderland girl.
