what's the plan for you guys paul/andy etc?

obviously it's a bit wait-and-see how much backing the new investors give sturrock, and what their intentions are, so is it a case of giving it your backing for now?

I think the Trust will probably welcome the news with a sense of caution and then at some stage look to meet and lobby to get a fan on the board?

I suppose there's not a lot that the trust can say at this stage, yet again a severe lack of details has left everyone in the dark.

The Trust position needs the mandate of its membership.....I feel a meeting of all fans groups like the October? meeting last year is called for.

   Maybe Rufus Brevett could be invited.

  I feel these new peeps will need to learn that they can either engage in a positive and open way with fans's groups, or face opposition to their schemes.

  Its not been an auspicious start.

We've got a members' meeting on Saturday which we will be inviting the new owners(?) or their representatives to attend and set fans' minds at rest.

As for a Trust position on all this, as Reg says that would be for our members to decide. As a board, I think we would take the line that it's impossible to take any position, other than a broad feeling of relief that the waiting game fiasco seems to be done and a vague optimism that this is a genuine new start for the club, until we have any information as to what has been done.

We asked a series of questions a few weeks back, the Adver a few weeks before that. Once those questions have been answered properly, then we'd be in a position to take a call on this. Until then, we can but hope like everyone else.

TrustSTFC welcomes the news that talks between the Football Club and new investors have reached a successful conclusion. However, the series of questions relating to the takeover posed by ourselves and the local media remain unanswered and must be addressed before fans can be fully confident about the future of their club.

Trust chairman Paul Davis commented :"Until we know more about these new owners and their plans it is impossible to judge the effect they will have on the club, however we remain open minded about the situation and have written to the club requesting a meeting with the new owners to discuss the issues of concern to the fans."

"We have also extended an invitation to the new owners and their appointee Rufus Brevett to attend our fans meeting this Saturday. Hopefully they will take that opportunity to begin the process of rebuilding the relationship between the club and the fans that has become so strained in recent times" added Davis.

Trust communications officer Andy Ratcliffe added :"The new owners have a big job to do and we don't expect them to do it all overnight. However, demonstrating some openness and a willingness to engage with the fans at an early stage could go a long way to making their job a lot easier."
