Title: Lee Homes at Charlton Match
Post by: Dazzza on Tuesday, August 14, 2007, 21:01:19
Confirmed on the BBC just now during the Sturrock interview.

Sounds promising given the Scotchman's tone.

I think he's involved with Stoke (and is mates with Stoke gaffer  Pulis) who are up against Charlton on Saturday.

Stuart Pearce was walking right next to me as I was approaching the Arkells stand before going into the turnstile, saw him in the stands too. Also saw Mick McCarthy and Gary Megson in the stands too.

With Holmes on the left, and 2 new strikers (not including Corr) we'd have been half decent last night. Certainly good enough to hold our own in League 1.

Would be good to see Holmes back .. especially as Zaaboub seems to be going through a confidence crisis at present

It's not a confidence crisis, it's an effort one.

He also lives in Shalbourne (or somewhere like that!) so Swindon is in effect his local team!

Would be good to get Holmes back here. he's a great player and seemed to genuinely enjoy his time at STFC. We do need atleast one new striker in to make it worthwhile though

That is the story of the year though to be fair!  :soapy tit wank:

There were a few more exciting elements to my story such as having to smuggle him and his wife up the back stairs due to hoards of small children standing in reception wanting his autograph! but I kept it to a condensed version!

Are we certain that everybody hasn't got this horribly wrong and we'll see Lee Holmes sign for Charlton in the next few days?

That would be funny....but sick at the same time. I personally would love to see him back, great potential, very good player at the current time. Did brilliantly last time around.
