Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:12:28 I've had 2 people on the L&P forum say that the Town End is shut Tuesday now and Only the Arkells and Kingswood Stand is open. Anyone with tickets then will be moved. Craig mentioned they are putting up new barriers in the Town End?
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:14:09 they've had all summer to do work on the town end :|

Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Samdy Gray on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:22:26 And there was me going to watch a match from the Town End for the first time :(
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Arriba on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:36:59 i dont know if i want to live anymore.
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: STFC_Gazzza on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:38:53 Guess it makes sense if they havent sold too many tickets. I would have thought we would get a good gate of 8000 or so as its Charlton and they were in the Prem etc... It is also the first home game, saying that I guess people cant afford say, Northampton, Luton, Cheltenham and the CC match?
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Bushey Boy on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:39:30 FFS guys, there will not be a massive crowd and it saves on stewarding costs.
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: suttonred on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:42:34 I'm taking my brother who lives in Norwich, myself in Surrey and picking another brother up in Newbury so If that's any sort of guide should be a fair attendance, none of us ever go in the town end anymore so doesn't bother us too much
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Bushey Boy on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:45:31 8000 max
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:47:01 I'd of thought there would be a bigish crowd, first home game of the season, and charlton are probably the biggets team we could of got in the draw.
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 20:48:13 we had a good attendance for brentford at home last season, why wouldn't we have an attendance as good as that?

Maybe as Bushey said they decided only to save on costs or maybe the new investors (no politics please) have put a bit of money in to do the place up a bit?? Makes no difference anyway I dont think. Wise had a massive affect last year, we were all confident. Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Arnold.J.Rimmer on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 21:06:45 I've heard they're taking the seats out of the Town End and returning it to a terrace. A gesture of good will from the new investors/board to the fans, apparently.
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Bogus Dave on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 21:12:39 Ive heard they're taking seats out and replacing them with sofas. Portugese leather aswell. An act of goodwill from the new investors to the fans.

Looking on the Online seat booker, it looks fairly busy...few spare seats at the Town end side of the Nationwide and Arkells. That sort of bull shit deserves to be on the TISTFC forum! :cry:Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: reeves4england on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 21:20:16 Sounds like a load of crap to me - would have been on the OS surely?!
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Arnold.J.Rimmer on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 21:24:28 It was from a reliable source though :soapy tit wank:
We should get 8000, maybe 9000 depending on how many Charlton bring. Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: sonic youth on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 21:27:58 i'm just looking forward to hurling abuse at that diving cunt mcleod

A whole pound more expensive (as students) !
Nice of them to tell us. Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Monday, August 13, 2007, 08:25:25 I think that most teams will just be allocated just the Bank this season
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Batch on Monday, August 13, 2007, 09:13:54 That's shit then. I guess I could view it as an 'upgrade', but nobody sits in the town end for the view!
I refuse to beleive they have shut the TE due to poor sales. Surely we will have more than 5k - a number which the Town End was still open for business in the past. I guess H&SE may have made them make barrier changes at short notice (if that is the reason). I guess better shut Tuesday than Saturday mind... Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: RobertT on Monday, August 13, 2007, 09:21:25 Wouldn't suprise me to see a new barrier infront of the front row of seats in place, especially after the last game of last season where several hundred spent the 2nd half up stood down the front.
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: The_Plagiarist on Monday, August 13, 2007, 09:31:39 I hear they're shutting the Town End to remove all the seats then refit them facing away from, the pitch, a gesture of goodwill from the new owners apparently. :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Bogus Dave on Monday, August 13, 2007, 10:46:06 Went to the ticket office today, and its true. Everybody who has a town end ticket has to go to the town end turnstiles, and will then be given a ticket to the arkells. All the people who bought a town end ticket will be put in the left bit of the arkells stand, the bit with the tacky blue seats.
Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: reeves4england on Monday, August 13, 2007, 12:03:38 I suppose it means we get a better view...
And everybody from the TE will be together so should still make some noise. I still say it sounds stupid though! They have had all summer to do this Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: Power to people on Monday, August 13, 2007, 12:30:47 I heard they are shutting the TownEnd permanently this season to save on stewarding costs this season, so they can save the new investors some money :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

Nothing we don't already know, just that us TE ticket holders will get an Arkells replacement from the someone at the TE turnstyles. So I guess get ther 5 minutes earlier than normal! Title: Townend Shut V Charlton Post by: sonic youth on Monday, August 13, 2007, 15:44:13 haha are they putting all the town end ticket holders by the family enclosure?
