Title: Perseid meteors Post by: Reg Smeeton on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 19:03:28 ....for anyone interested, tonight anytime after 11:00 looking towards the NE if its clear, then the aforementioned shower of shooting particles should be at their best.
Helps if you're out of town....down the years I've clocked some of these a few times when on holiday camping etc.... Shooting and falling "stars" are mighty fine to behold if you've had no experience. Fair enough. I was at the Check Inn in Wroughton last night and everyone got well excited over it and everyone went outside of the pub. I didn't have a clue if you see it all the time or whatever. It was just a bright moving light. No its shite now. Fullers took it over, They serve the standard Strongbow and Carling Black Label. They do however to Staropraven and San Miguel and a few fullers beers and real ales. Very quiet now out there and prices went up about 50p. Pretty poor show. They are doing it up in October putting in wood flooring etc I've heard. Fullers Killed it mate. They took out Bitburger, Amstel, Urgdinger and all the decent lagers. Title: Perseid meteors Post by: Bushey Boy on Sunday, August 12, 2007, 21:00:47 Bloody good pub that was, sad days!

It could be worse and be an airport, they proposed an airport as a ploy to get the permission for the resevoir. It just annoys me that they have just spent millions re-doing our old canal and maintaing the old water ways and encouraging wildlife, now the want to build a massive mound on top of it and fill it full of water. Think of the pong and the insects it would bring in summer, I already get eaten alive as it is. Also what would of happened if it had of over flowed in the recent floodings. Rant over. I love stars they are so twinkly. Title: Perseid meteors Post by: BANGKOK RED on Monday, August 13, 2007, 16:55:09 Is their any video footage of the "action" available on the net?
