Although if they were to keep referring to it, then it could slow the game up. Maybe something along the lines of what they do in Tennis now where the players get 3 lives. So if a player disagrees with an umpiring decision then it goes to hawk eye. Maybe 3 lives in a session or something like that? I feel sorry for umpires these days, they make so many top notch decisions but they are always going to make the odd mistake. But with the technology the tv companies have these days they are able to highlight these errors. 10 years ago this wouldnt have happened and they would get away with the incorrect decisions. Have there ever been any comparisons done between Hawkeye and reality ? - eg get someone to bowl with no batsmen and film where the ball really goes, compared to where Hawkeye thinks it's going ? That's the only way to prove the accuracy IMO. |
