Why do so many of our fans boo players (Pook mainly) when they are announced?

It's hardly gonna improve their performance is it?

Booing individuals at the end of a game, or if they're subbed, when they've been shit I understand.

But booing before they've played?

Pook got boos when he came on at Exeter :?

Its a fucking joke, sorry but there are many players that play bad, but pook is a constant scapegoat. I swear people wait for a mistake and wait for the number 19 shirt and then start to heckle, whenever other players make mistakes e.g. jutkiewicz, and believe me yes he was good but he made as many mistakes if not more than pook.

I think it's a real shame that fans make it almost impossible for any young, local players to succeed.

Pook isn't a world beater (never will be) but he's 100% committed and deserves some respect over and above some of the Prima Donas we have in the squad.

i don't agree with your statement at all. i think the fact we've had no one to "get excited over" (giggle) just means the adver or wdp or whoever will try to big up whatever we've got. if anything we over try to want people to suceed. my money is on them trying to make allen sound like zidane soon or something like that.

and the fact that pook doesn't play like he's commited, more like a hesitant child, that irks most. so to that end i don't think he deserves any more respect than anyone else. he's also made sounds about being bored at swindon so...yeah commited

roberts was last years victim for me and zaboub hadn't just stalled over signing a contract. Agreed they were as bad, but they didn't make a constant fuck up of trying to make a simple pass.most of their fuck-ups come from failing to get by a conference player to get a ball in.

Thats absolute bollocks, loads of players get shit from supporters the real test is trying to prove these people wrong. If a player knuckles down and works hard to improve they will become a better player. If a player starts feeling sorry for themself and takes the easy option of hiding then frankly they don't deserve to be a pro footballer.

It tests a players character, if Pook has any he will do his all to prove us wrong, if not he can fuck off to Supermarine......judging by the amount of times he's still out drinking I'll suggest the latter option is the most likely.

Look at Hargreaves, Butt etc for England.......they got shit every game playing for England but they knuckled down and were our best players in WC 2002 and 2006 respectively.

pook got booed before the last game of last season.also at supermarine a couple of weeks ago.and allegedly yesterday too.

he doesn't deserve it no, but at the same time he has to take responsibility for his career. If he decided to concentrate 100% on the football in what is the make or break time of his career rather than being out every weekend drinking people may start to respect him.
As I keep saying its time for him to stand up and be counted, the challenge and opportunity is there whether he has the character to grasp it time will tell!

I would never boo any of our players, it is not helpful for the team.
And added to the fact that Pook is a hell of a lot better than most people say.

He was in Spot Friday and Saturdays nearly all pre-season, him and Nicho were working on an intensive fitness plan to stay in shape.

By pulling as many birds as possible .. they say thats the best form of exercise ...
