Title: Danny Rose

Impressive at Oxford and Bristol Rovers (albeit only on trial). A midfielder who gets forward, ex Man United. Rovers haven't offered him a contract...Worth a go?

Having the ex scummer Brevett fouling the CG is bad enough....when he becomes manager I daresay the likes of Rose might be foisted on us.

If Bart posted that I would tell him to fuck off and get a life. Fortunately though I have double standards and I won't 8)

Not good enough - he's average at best.

He'll fit in well then.  I'm losing count of the amount of players were signing that general opinion seems to be something like "he's not the answer to our problems but he'll be a good player to have in the squad".

We've got 3 forwards on contracts in the past few weeks, yet nobody seems to think they'll be a "goalscorer".  You'd hope one of them would have been.

I think its a classic situation of pray one turns out to be a class act and is capable of finding the net on a regular basis!

On the other hand, looked how much we raved and were excited about Cureton and he turned out cr@p! We thought he'd be a top goalscorer and we couldn't have been proved more wrong.

I'm still keeping an open mind  :?

I know Cureton is the target of vitriol, mainly because he clearly could not be arsed at the end and just wanted a move.  However, his strike rate was probably still better than most of the team last season (which in itself probably just serves to show up the problem).

I'm not suggesting we need the mythical 20 a season player, but we do need a couple of players who offer a threat.  The better teams, the ones without Lineker, tend to have 3/4 players in double figures.  I can't see more than 2 making it in our team to more than 6.  Peacock didn't suggest he'd get goals from his new position towards the end of the season really, not a htafull anyway.  Roberts won't get double figures from out wide unless we have penalties being awarded left right and centre and nobody else even hints at being goalscorer outside the forwards.

I've never seen this fellah play and as a result I can't get rid of the mental picture of Woody Allen as a midfield general.

Odd....
