Title: Transfer Embargo?
Post by: Colin Todd on Monday, July 23, 2007, 11:34:33
Quote
The FA were going to enforce a transfer embargo against the football club, in view of the fact the club have not fulfilled their duty in respect of the final CVA payment, and thus have cast doubt over the football club’s short and long term future, as a result of the impending FA ruling the football club have agreed to a Voluntary transfer embargo, which will stay in place until a satisfactory takeover is complete or until a new agreement is reached with creditors over the final CVA payment.

Some Geezer called 000 posted that on thisis. Does this have any truth to it or is it just shit stirring?

Could be true.

Could be bollocks.

That's the beauty of forums I suppose.

Don't know '000' and he's only posted twice on thisis. Nobody else has confirmed it, so the answer is................Haven't got a clue.

000 posted a few "inside" scoops on the old thisis.  Can't remember if they were right though.

Could be complete bollock of course,

Then given the 'Beyo transfer starting too feel like last seasons "Ince-gate" before it fell through, Sturrocks interview giving his "exhasberated" views on the "frozen" transfer activity, Pooks ongoing lack of signing a contract, the keeper coach urging the consortium to hurray up, Ken Bates quoted as saying we were 3 weeks from oblivion, no trialists signed*,  it may be right. This is STFC after all.

If its who I think it is, he has been one of senior guys at a very large company and to be fair he did get the season tickets up to 3,000

000 said that the investors had pulled out the day before the statement said there would be a takeover. so i'm not inclined to believe this

Post by: Bushey Boy on Monday, July 23, 2007, 13:31:18
There was more than one investor though?

I think he said he had been told that the "last remaining investor" had pulled out.

So either that was true and the club are engineering a cover up under the guise of a financial restructure, or he was missinformed or lied to.

I'd say the latter given the Brevett story came out after his post. To rope Brevett into some kind of ellaborate hoax would be a bit (a lot) too far fetched.

I misread the title, thought it said 'Transormers Embargo'. Thank god it's only a transfer embargo.

Whenever due diligence starts, its usual not to have any significant outlays - it could be true, but then even if there was no embargo from the FA, I'd be surprised if Sturrock's hands weren't tied anyway.

Apparently Lambert has denied the story about an embargo.  As he is the sales and marketing manager I would doubt he would have that info anyway, Smarmy Starnes deals with transfers and he is currently enjoying a free holiday in Austria!

If you check on the club website, both Mike Sullivan and Ben Lambert are listed as 'Sales and Marketing Manager'. Who manages who is beyond me though and I can't be arsed to post the link if you don't believe me.
