Have not seen it myself but i believe the adver have actually hand delivered a letter with some of the questions that fans are asking to the current board.

The whole silence from the club, and lack of knowledge over these new investors, is just plain frightning ...

i remember when the consortium came out saying they wanted to buy the club etc the current board came up with random investors and demanded to know who it was behind the consortium.

So the Trust told them which soon shut them up.

Now the shoes on the other foot they seem very reluctant to say anything at all.

At least the adver aren't just letting it lie.  I hope that if they do not get any answers they will make a big deal of it.

Do you know what worries me? I'm worried about Sturrock walking, he didn't seem to think that much of the portugese player who scored 2 last night and i bet he does not like having portugese players forced on him! I still think these new investors will tell sturrock what players he will sign....

I think he must be pretty pissed off especially with him having that inexperienced scummer rufus as a go between, i hope this does not turn sour as sturrock needs to stay here but if he is forced to do things he doesn't want to do then maybe he will walk??....

Sturrock won't walk.  Blair has just signed a 2 year deal and he has built a squad around him with a high consistency of players he has already worked with.  Hes not a quitter and would be throwing too much away.

Sturrock's not going anywhere. In fact if the takeover comes off I would assume that he is actually more likley to stay as he will have an increased budget at his disposal.

Doofus Brevett is not in a position higher than Sturrock, he's a first world war style runner between the Captain on the front line (Sturrock) and the generals back in HQ (the investors).  A runner is not higher than a Captain, esecially if you're in Gallipoli (which we're not but it makes sense - to me).

Someone claimed a "coach" had let it be known that the new owners were Portuguese and wanted to "funnel" some players through the club.  He said that this coach also played football for a team in Swindon.

As I say, most likely rubbish, but it might not be, or might be or......



....who cares.  In my imagination the new owners are infact a human trafficking cartel, using our club to move South Ameircan prostitutes through Portugal, onto STFc and then into the streets of Broad Green area.  Nobody can stop them because they are backed by Columbian Drug Overlords who have kidnapped the entire Wills family( just to make sure they get the right one as nobody is 100% who is in control) and Mike Diamandis' boss, aka Mrs Diamandis.

I was standing near to Sturrock at last nights game in the stand, but didn't like to go and question him about the investors through fear of upsetting him, don't suppose anyone managed to speak to him when he was walking around.

The adver has a picture today of a foreign guy with Brevett who may or may not be the mystery investor, perhaps it is time for a few people to see if Brevett is at the Ciren game and seek him out and throw a few questions at him and anyone he is with, please or offend.

I personally don't think we should be involving Sturrock so he can keep himself focussed on team matters, maybe my wording was wrong I meant in the sense that he was there to concentrate on the game not get involved in the politics.

I will be looking out for Brevett at Ciren though and if I see him I will ask him, all I'm suggesting is that if others see him maybe they should ask as well then at least someone may have got something concrete as the silence from this board is deafening.  :D

Fair enough P2P..I agree to a certain extent about not involving him self in politics, but he is smack in the middle of it all really.

If Brevett is 'above' Sturrock in rank, does that mean that the no-marks performing a similar job at Premiership Clubs are above their managers in terms of status and position?

From Sturrock's own comments, it appears pretty clear that any requests he has to make of the new investors will be mediated via Brevett and likewise, if they are as claimed largely based overseas and so using Brevett as their eyes and ears, their judgement of his performance, how he is using money for transfers, loan signings etc will be based on what Brevett tells them. Dress it up how you like, but it sounds to me like he will effectively be reporting in to Brevett. Much will depend on how they hit it off, I'd have thought, if he gets on well with Brevett, all well and good, if not, we could have a problem.

Arnesen is hardly a no mark and may actually hold more sway in recruitment than Mourinho, what with his boss and him not always being best buddies.  As I understand it Arnesen has a pretty sweeping authority over recruitment of talent at Chelsea.  It's then up to Jose what he does with it.  So in some respects they do out rank the Manager, but not nec being their boss.  I'm fairly sure Arnesen has no input on team selection though.

I think the role is very distinct normally though.  The European method seperates the two roles very clearly with the DofF being in charge of recruitment and contracts etc and the Coach being in charge of selection and training.

Our one looks a little more muddled but essentially Rufus would not be his boss, but he would need to work through Rufus.  The question would simply be, who gets the best ear of the person really calling the shots.  basically, if Sturrock wants to spend outside his remit, then he has to go through Rufus to get the answer.  Rufus may have no actual authority, but his presence could complicate the issue and make it seem like he does.  Personally, I still don't get his appointment.

The Fan's Consortium are still wanting to take control of stfc but stfc don't want the fan's consortium to take control by the seems of it unfortunetly.
