As it stands on the 10th of July, you are correct our strike force would not be good enough, but we don't play Northampton for what, another month? I am confident that in that timescale, Sturrock will have added another attacking midfield player, a couple of wingers and 2 maybe 3 more strikers. Remember last season, we were bemoaning where the goals were going to come from to ensure promotion. Sturrock went and got Big Baz on loan and everything was rosy in the kitchen! The thing is, it could just be the order in which we are signing them, come the first game, if we've got the 2 strikers and 2 wingers we need then its all rosy, if we had signed them first, wewould be moaning about a lack of cover at the back

You could be on to something about the order. Proven strikers and wingers are more likely to be expensive to get hold of, meaning you're more likely to want to sift through trialists during the pre-season friendlies. Still early days yet. Now Sturrock can look at what he has in defence and decide what kind of players we need to take the ball off them and produce at the other end.
