And if you look up the last edit time it says:

"12:50, 4 July 2007 172.215.104.64 (7,336 bytes)"

Which is the problem with relying on an information source that is little better than thisis organised into more subjects and treating it as if it is fact.

Last edit was 14.05, Paul:

(cur) (last)  14:05, 4 July 2007 Swindon Adder (Talk | contribs) (7,365 bytes) (→Personal life)

The fact someone called 'Swindon adder' put it in says it all, really.

Ah, that wasn't there when I looked. Suspect Mr Adder may have added the following "However this seems unlikely unless he is being blackmailed by the greek mafia at sn1." which will doubtless disappear as soon as the wikipedia mods spot it. Like I said, wikipedia is about as reliable an information source as thisis (the forum, not the adver news section, before you do your "journos of the world unite" bit ;-) )

Yep, you're not wrong mate.

On this whole Packer subject, I seem to remember STFC coming up with some hairbrained scheme about 7 or 8 years ago to build a casino on the corner of the Shrivenham Road (yeah, I don't like the Kingswood Stand either) end. Wonder if they've sold this crock of shit to him!!!

It was gonna be a Grosvenor Casino, I had a feelign it was menat to be on the TE/Arkells corner - alas as an idea it suffered from 'Advanced Bowden Syndrome' - it made it out of someone head, onto paper then was sacked off as a crock of shit.

What would be his motive then, Casino on the CG site once Diamandis has moved the club to Chippenham? Thats the only reason I can think of as I can't see anyone that is in the 'super rich' bracket investing in us as there isn't exactly much to invest in at present with huge debts and pretty much no assets.

It ain't going to happen  :-))( there is more chance of me becoming the bearded lady of Guildford than there is of someone who is the fruit of Kerry 'i'll change the whole international cricketing world' Packers loins investing in Swindon Town Football Club.

IF it is him, could be just a hobby.
Not sure if that's good or not

I think it changed again recently so you can now house a casino within a hotel and leisure complex.

I'm not saying I believe it at all, but someone with a personal fortune of $7bn is not going to be put off by £2m debt.

I don't believe it would be him anyway, whoever came up with this name has really pulled it out of left field.

That might be a fantastic outcome if it were them.

They would want to develop in a population centre ie in Swindon itself, not out in the wilds.
A tie up with a football club might be a great way of 'buying' themselves into the local community, ready for a huge casino.
The obvious posibility of a joint casino/football ground redevelopment somewhere in the town.

and they might be professional enough to demand complete confidentiality until the deal is done.

Amazing what a great scenario you can paint from a few completely unconnected facts.
