It's a great word isn't it?

'Linked'

It is so over used but what does it mean exactly? Wednesday's equivalent of fatbury has probably said on one of their forums, "ooooh, I think so and so might go to Swindon".

From that point on he's 'linked' with a move to Swindon :?

If you bothered to looked at the Owls forum (Linked to the article) you'll see that the opposite is true.

There's also some Owls fans talking about coming to support us against Leeds at Elland Rd, depending on their own fixtures.

to answer my own question cos i enjoy talking to myself because the rest of you are cunts...

zaaboub - on trial at wednesday
sturrock jr - plymouth
corr - wednesday
easton - dundee utd
aljofree - plymouth, dundee utd and wednesday

timlin, noubissie, westwood, gnapka, grimes, james and partridge - short-term contracts or loanees.

someone may as well compile a list of players sturrock has managed and we'll cross them off one by one.

If Sturrock knows these players can play the way he wants and will put the effort in the areas he expects then it can't be a bad thing. It was obviously a problem he had with some of the players he inherited.

It does take some of the excitement out of it though.

I'd rather have players join us because they want to play for our manager than a bunch of players here for the money and nothing else.

Them being good would be a bonus though  :D

In the Championship yes. And the Wednesday fans were none too convinced about his sacking if I rememember.

In fairness to Sturrock he wasn't sacked because of bad results, he was sacked because the Owls Chairman didn't like the style of play.

He had some key players injured and was still churning out decent results.

The Wednesday fans showed faith with Sturrock which, imo, is a positive thing.

They were 21st in the league when he was sacked so results must have played a part.As for what Wednesday fans think....couldnt give a fuck.

Fair enough.

I'm just looking at the facts.

Players who have played for him in the past want to play for him again.

Fans of Clubs he's managed before (With the exception of Southampton) Idolise him.

He's had 4 promotions in 6 seasons.

Looking at all that, I think he must be doing something right! :D

He was sacked after a being given a new contract, and having about nine first teamers injured.  It was utter stupidity on behalf of the Sheff. Wed. chairman.  They were getting players back, and doing better when he was sacked.

Their ground being flooded just shows the power of the will of Luggy.
