To be fair, if my payrise was less than inflation I'd be pretty pissed off too.

I've also seen that Royal Mail won't be paying for overtime on Saturday to clear the backlog, fucking tightwads.

Striking is like a kids way of sorting something.  The fact is by striking they are losing more money than it would of cost royal mail to add the increas (based on three planned protests)  Both sides should just sit down and sort it out.

Pathetic

people wil gain nothing by striking, the closures and job losses will happen anyway.as will the other changes happening in royal mail.
now it has major competition it has to compete, and posties have had it quite easy for years.
many royal mail staff are against the strikes and are only going out to not be called a scab!the longer it goes on the more will cross the picket lines.also many places aint striking at all.
frankly its a fucking mess

I consider myself to be fairly left of centre but I have to say that most Unions seem to spend their time thinking of ways to justify their existence.  Some of the least friendly and fair employees I've worked with have been Union activists.

The Royal Mail strike is nuts, you could see an argument if the employees were missing out on a fair share of profits, but it's essentially a business that would fail if wasn't protected.

The Union have sat down and the top Bosses at Royal Mail wont talk so tough fucking shit.

Like Sam said the pay rise offered was 2.5% and the current rate of inflation is 4%, Crozier and Leighton state that the company have no money but these are the same Cunts who had an executive box at Ascot which cost £50,000 and then lobster,Crab and all the Champagne they could drink which was put on the companys tab, fuck the lot of them.

oh, and Crozier is the highest paid civil servant in the country at around £1.1m, if the company hits all the targets, he gets a £700k bonus. no wonder we've got no fucking money, we've also got something like 20 of the top 50 highest paid civil servants in the country too. rediculous.

there is power in a factory, power in the land, power in the arms of the worker. but it all amounts to nothing if together we dont stand, there is power in the union.

Why not promote a warehouse supervisor to CEO of a billion pound business and pay him £35k a year. Because that will work out just great wont it?

The best people require the best pay to attract and keep them. Crozier seems to have done a good job so far of modernising an arcahic organisation that has far too much union power to be effiecient and competitive in 2007

Its not really about NEED is it?  He applied for a job and got offered it on that pay, same as anyone on here except with more zeros after it. Strickly speaking i dont NEED all that I get paid (not that I get paid loads or anything)- I could make do on less, but is dosnt mean that the extra isnt welcome

And yes it is the same Crozier.
