Title: Best red card Post by: Kinky Tom on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 16:51:45 What do you consider to be the best sending off offence you have seen? Don't care if it was a Town game just want some funny, gory, or otherwise worthwhile tales of red cards.
To kick it off I'm going to go with a Town vs. Huddersfield game in which Dean Gorre was sure a throw in should have been given to Huddersfield, needles to say the officials felt otherwise. Gorre became increasingly incensed and threw a wobbly the size you'd imagine Mick the Greek might do when anybody may dare question his judgement or intent. Initially he was shown a yellow card and ushered away, this was not to be all from the now Dutch Masters footballer, he refused to accept this decision and again began throwing all the toys in Woolworths out of his pram, referee, God bless him put him out of his misery and issued a second yellow. At the time I really could not understand this tantrum given that it was only a throw in, if I'm honest I still can't but damn it was funny. I know it's not the best of all time or owt, but hey entertaining none the less. Title: Best red card Post by: Luci on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 16:53:33 Hello KT! Long time no post, hope you're ok!
Has to be Graham "3 yellow cards" Poll for me. Probably not the best but a stupid mistake that amused me no end! Title: Best red card Post by: mattboyslim on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 16:54:36 Personally seeing Sicknote Anderton beig sent of for dissent for Bournemouth last season was funny. I always enjoy the dissent red card due to it normally being for throwing a proper wobbly.
Windass last season was good too - just to see him denying it after launching a two footed throat high lunge and connecting. Ooh, that was naughty, got death threats from Bradford fans after that! Yes Lady, not posting too much these days, I've lost a little motivation to do so but I think I'll keep my hand in occasionally. Title: Best red card Post by: Bedford Red on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 17:12:54 One I never knew why was David Kerslake at Leicester in the 90-91 season.
He must have got sent off in the first 90 seconds and I couldn't see why and never found out. Not being a dirty player it surprised me; so if anyone was there and knows please tell me. Going off the subject but Bloody Leicester; we were 2-0 up and they got their equalizer in the 94th minute. Around that time we never got anything at Leicester; that game was typical of our luck at Filbert St then. Title: Best red card Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 17:19:04 On the subject of Leicester who incidentally we haven't played for a while now, Joachim's red card when Colin had him by the throat, and he was flailing away gay little punches, but couldn't reach, was funny as fuck.
Title: Best red card Post by: Reg Smeeton on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 17:25:55 Another one which springs to mind was Scott Leitch getting carded v I think Bradford City......he went in for a fifty fifty with Big Dave (Darren Moore).....Leitch ended up not unsurprisingly in a crumpled heap. From my spot in the TE, I assumed that Big Dave had gone over the top, as the ref ran up to brandish the red, but it was for Leitch, who had tried but failed to clog Moore.

Title: Best red card Post by: reeves4england on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 17:58:47 I thought "tea towel" getting sent off at the CG was amusing, mostly because it was probably a result of the TE winding him up!
The most bizarre would have to be when Danson sent off Migs for, erm, well, nothing, against luton taht time at the CG Title: Best red card Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 18:06:53 Quote from: "herthab" Quote from: "STFC Village" Sills @ Hereford last season :D Now that was funny :D I think we had more than a little to do with that one too! I have seen it all when those player do things like that Title: Best red card Post by: ronnie21 on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 18:08:43 Beauchamp getting sent off for two yellows was funny, he hardly ever made two tackles let alone two in one match!! Bobby Barnes for flashing a V-sign at a linesman against WBA, and he only meant he had been fouled twice!!!
Title: Best red card Post by: Barry Scott on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 18:10:10 Funniest for me was Vinnie Jones' World Record Red Card. I can't find it on youtube, but i know it was about 15 seconds.
The opposition Kicks off, Vinnie lunges, 2 footed at the person receiving the ball from kick off. Must've been less then 15 seconds, but i remeber that being hilarious. I can't remember if Bullock was sent off but it started a nice brawl.
Also remember Scott Leitch tangling with Steve Bull at Molineux, I think both were sent off but iirc it was actually a proper punch up. We need more Bullock/Leitch types :( Title: Best red card Post by: jayohaitchenn on Thursday, June 28, 2007, 10:56:31 Bullock was ace! I remember one time... though i can't remember who we were playing... when Darren Bullock was caught from behind with a clumsy strikers challenge. He got straight back up and grabbed the bloke by the throat. After some hangbag action the other player was sent off and Darren got a yellow for "retaliation"
haha, we spent the rest of the game cheering every time Bullock got the ball, he was loving it! Title: Best red card Post by: Leggett on Thursday, June 28, 2007, 11:53:30 one of the funniest i've seen live was town vs blackburn, some time around 98/99/2000 i seem to remember, in division one. cant remember the blokes name, black lad, not a really bad challenge by him on a town player, ref pulls him to one side, talks to him, but he's going nuts at the ref so gets a yellow card, ref walks away, he kicks at the pitch and a bit of mud flies off his boots and hits the ref, gets carded again and sent off. was protesting his innocence, but i'm not too sure! :P
what made it better was my best mate at school was a blackburn fan, had gone to the game with him, we beat em 2-1 if memory serves, he dissapeared before the final whistle, all the way home i was ringing his phone and chanting at him, it was ace :D Title: Best red card Post by: Tails on Thursday, June 28, 2007, 11:55:31 Aha I remember that.
We beat them at our place and got a draw up at Ewood Park. We were utter sh*te that season yet managed to take 4 points off Blackburn and we beat Charlton (who stormed the league that year!) at the Valley. And some nice fans had pushed the ref's car on its side soapy tit wank. Title: Best red card Post by: cavpete on Thursday, June 28, 2007, 12:15:44 Didn't Digby get sent off against aldershot and got a broken finger at the same time?? can't remember what exactly happened iirc Digby whent for the ball and got clattered then got a straight red.
Title: Best red card Post by: Kinky Tom on Thursday, June 28, 2007, 12:53:44 Anyone at Wolves when Chris Casper got sent off when we had him on loan?
He fouled some annoymous Wolves player and had a chat with the ref, all seemed fine and Casper was allowed to walk away, the Molineux faithful felt that he should maybe have been punished further so the ref called Casper back and sent him off. Baffling. Title: Best red card Post by: adje on Thursday, June 28, 2007, 20:50:01 HELLO K.T.-my bestest one was Mark Robinson clocking fucking John McGitly against Bolton.I hate that bastard

Alan McDonald went in goal which was a bit mental as he was a bit of a QPR legend. Iffy's debut as well. Was in the 97/98 season when we were bombing around at the top of the league until christmas, That was probably one of the only games we won in the second half of the season. I think anyway, my memory isn't that good on football things. Not important enough to remember really. I went though. Nah there was a fair few from memory. Me being one of them. Was an ace match. 4th min the Steve Cowe goal. Then I remember them absolutely battering us for the rest of the match. Was absolutely mental. Think Charlton were one win from some sort of club or league record or something, and our match before; a wednesday night victory at home against Huddersfield; prevented us setting a similar record but with defeats. Happy days. Frank Talia put in one hell of a performance.
