Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 22:57:06 hello, world.
axs - will you be partaking in some beverages of an alcoholic nature with some of us cheerful folk before games next season? Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 22:58:56 absolutely. i'm hoping to make 15 - 20 home games next season and i'm always in the merlin but may divert for a few of them if you lot are all elsewhere.
Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 22:59:23 actually - where d'yall go before games?
Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 23:00:53 why 15-20? do you work saturdays?
erm i'm not sure. i've forgotten, i stopped going to the merlin as i didn't like the fact the let away fans in. i took to turning up late and staying in the cgh for a few hours afterwards instead. i think most people go to the merlin then onto the county before games though Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 23:02:39 usually i go straight to the county at about 1sh but sometimes i go to the merlin at about 12 then on to the county at half 1.or sometimes i dont bother at all
Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 23:04:06 my girlfriend lives in norwich so i'm away a lot of weekends.
i'd probably recognise some people from the merlin that post on here - if i met them. i've still never seen any trouble in there from away fans, the wallsall guys were great, we all had a laugh before the last game. wasn't there for the rovers game though, might have been a different story. Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 23:11:54 it's not the trouble that bothers me, i just don't like away fans. they're like foreigners.
google searching thetownend is fun Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 23:12:50 ooooooh, 3 results.
Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 23:14:10 away fans can be fun, a lot of them are up for a laugh and a bit of banter and it's always great when you have a common enemy, like MKDicks.

Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 23:48:40 i see, i guess you live in the golden triangle?
Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: oxford_fan on Tuesday, June 26, 2007, 23:56:24 used to, just graduated. golden triangle was nice, as was norwich. do you like it? some great pubs about in the golden triangle, particularly the Fat Cat. also there is a cracking Indian near the Iceland roundabout in town, the Good Food I believe it is called. Their passanda should be a desert though, so sweet.
need to look for a place in london now and the rent is scary, even for somewhere like Hackney. Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:00:08 i go out a lot in town there, henry's, optic, waterfront, take 5 etc. last wine bar is best for food, tatlers is overrated.
i'll have to give that indian a go- i love a good curry, what road is it on? i can't place iceland in my mind. Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:01:01 and don pepe's has great spanish food too, steak is awesome and cracking wine too.
Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: oxford_fan on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:09:29 i can proudly say i've never been to the shithole nightclubs such as mercy, optic, time (does that one still exist?), sonic, etc. although i do venture to lava/ignite for the bounce drum and bass nights.
take 5 is great, they let us smoke weed in there when they have live jazz downstairs. i'd believe you when you say tatlers is overrated, my flatmate and his fat gf blab on about it all the time just because they went for a meal there once, they wouldn't know good cooking if R.Blanc served them dinner. don pepe on st benedicts is great, i've been there a couple of times. its like being in their front room! and wonderful food, i had chicken with grape last time. the brie or camanbert starter is not to be missed. the indian is on st stephens st, NR1 3SP Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:16:02 cheers, i'll try a curry there.
optic is ok, but a bit pretentious, i've been to mercy once and it was wank, time / sonic???? no idea, might be shut. i've been to lava igshite, was ok but a bit young for me (i.e. under 16s mainly) might just have been the saturday though. tatlers was over priced (£120 for 2 people) and the food wasn't that good. last wine bar is more like £70 (including drinks) and food is awesome. don pepe's features the spanish grandma and grandpa at the bar, he is grumpy as hell but gives you free beer, she is nice as pie and smiles when you ask for steak medium rare. Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: oxford_fan on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:25:45 mercy is where my mate goes to pull the older local birds, so i'd steer clear unless you fancy a bit of saggy norfolk minge.
sonic is definitely still there, on the Prince of Wales Road I've only been to Lager and Fight for Brown Sugar (it was the De La Soul after party) apart from Bounce, but can't imagine it being that great. PoNaNa is the usual predictable student cunts. Ever been to the Loft? I hear its quite good but when we tried to get in the other week they were searching on the door and my mate had a couple of beans in his baccy pouch which they disocvered, so we had to go elsewhere. The Garden House and Black Horse in the golden triangle do good food if you're pubbing, and also the Workshop on Earlham road is a bit poncy but does THE BEST pizzas going. Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:29:33 the loft is the gay bar isn't it? on POW road?
i think i know which one sonic is - really dodgy and next to liquid / optic? never been in there. the missus wants to move to golden triangle so i might buy a house there in the near future for her to live in and me at weekends. Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: oxford_fan on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:36:24 i think its only gay for one night of the week, and aye its on PoW but the entrance is kinda round the corner from Dominos.
sonic is near optic i think, PoW again. moving to GT sounds good, very pleasant area on the whole. watch out for those darn students though, i feel really sorry for some of the neighbours of my friends who have paid £300k plus for their houses only to be kept up by loud music etc. til the early hours - one of the neighbours takes revenge by ringing their doorbell on a Saturday morning at 6am for about 20mins. So they unplugged the doorbell. Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: sonic youth on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:36:42 i do not endorse any nightclubs in the norwich area
Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:37:43 £300K!!!! i hope thats not average i was looking at buying one for £130K!!!

Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: sonic youth on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:46:00 yes i have, i start thursday \o/
it's doing call logging for tech support at an i.t. company. three month temp thing but £8.50 an hour for answering a fucking telephone is obscene... Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: oxford_fan on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:46:49 nah £300k isn't average, they're in a 7 bedroom house. its a fucking mess and they have about 10 people living there at any one time. the kitchen stinks, is full of fly corpses and has a rat.
i think house prices in the area are about the national average, maybe slightly lower. Title: early late night thread. perhaps the late evening thread? Post by: axs on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 00:47:38 that's not bad for a temp job, it's way above the usual minimum wage. that'll pay the bills for 3 months and a bit extra.

Post by: axs on Wednesday, June 27, 2007, 01:14:17 i know, it's fun to laugh, but don't point, they hate it.
£200k might be average but i'm looking low end 2 bed terraces. fuck the schools, i haven't got any kids and i'm not expecting any in the next 5 years minimum! my masterplan is to rent out every house i buy and then sell them all when house prices turn / i reach 35. i think i need more though, i only own one at the moment. parks are good, i like green stuff.
