I would like to think that I have had a quite a good relationship with both Ben and Sarah at the club, VIP days etc, and the have always been cordial and respectful (whilst also knowing full well my position within the Trust and my stance on the situation) and we have communicated reguarly over lots of things.

However, about 3 weeks ago communication stopped for no apparrant reason.

Prior to this impasse, I had e mailed Sarah the following

I am involved in organising a family fun day at the Crosslink centre in Stratton on July 1st, all proceeds going to the Prospect@home fund.
 
Part of this is a 6 a side tournament where Don Rogers has been kind enough to donate trophies etc.
 
Would it be possible to get one of the players along for an hour to present the trophies after the final. (Lee or Luggy would be ideal......wish wish wish).We are starting to publicise this quite soon and the Adver will be there etc.
 
I am sorry to put on you like this, and I understand that they players are on their holidays etc, but I would be eternally grateful if something could be sorted.

The e mail has been read, but never replied to. I just thought that with the Legends thing supporting the Prospect that they would jump at the chance of more positive publicity in the current climate.

Now dont get me wrong, I bear none of my ramblings against Sarah, I think both her and Ben have been told to cut all ties.

But the whole day is about The Prospect, and I just cannot understand the stance.

What's in it for them. It wouldn't surprise me, if the board get something out of the Legends game.

Weather it's publicity or not, the Club should promote charity activities.

Ask Fatbury to ask a player for you, with his contacts and all. :P

Plus chances are he is still contracted to July 1st anyway.

I know Ben's just got married and had his honeymoon, so perhaps I am being a little harsh. Obviously Sarah is trying to cope with both e mail accounts

But just a simple

"Sorry Andy ............ snowed under.............I'll see what I can do"

takes 30 second to write

its the fact that they have read it and not even confirmed that they have that has upset me.

It would take less that 5 minute to say

"really sorry Andy, cant get hold of anyone, so please feel free to make your own arrangements"

Have you asked  Phil King Fred..Or Fraser perhaps. Im sure one of them would do it if your stuck.

Ive got a mate who looks vaguely like Alan Shearer,we got him to present some kids trophys whilst wearing a Newcastle shirt .The 6 year old just about fell for it...so if you get stuck :mrgreen:

Can I suggest your being a bit harsh on Sarah at least Fred, I know from personal experience that she is always as helpful as she can be but is blocked further up the chain, and of course if Ben is off (did he really marry that Diamandis bird ??!!) she will be a bit busy.

Why not put a call into Mike Sullivan  - he's the sales & Marketing manager but you may find that with it being close season the players may not fancy doing personal appearances anyway.

But to be fair I would be surprised if you was deliberately ignored by either of those two, let's not tar them with the same brush as the rest of them.

If they cant help (which would be perfectly understandable during close season etc) then thats fine, got no problem with that.

I would have just thought an e mail politely declining the opportunity would have been the order of the day.
