I had three amazing years at Swindon but I don't want to be remembered as being a success at only one club. I want to be successful elsewhere too.

Alas, no chance I fear.

He's going to get one hell of a reception when he comes 'home'...

little different with Calderwood I feel, as he left us when he could have been the first man to captain a team from the old div4 to the premier league but left.

I would never boo Colin, Glenn, John G anyone connected with the club from 1991 (when I started going) to 94 too many fond memories.

Note - only exception to this rule would be Joey Bumchum.

Parkin will get a decent reception from the town faithful, I'm sure of that.  Maybe a few ironic chants of swindon reject - sang in jest though!!

In my time the players that have left the club, as apposed to been released have rarely done much to deserve booing here's a few examples.

Igoe - Went to a higher divison, to be with his mate who was manager. (Fair enough).
Howard - Was only going to be kept if Smith left so he did the right thing for him and signed elsewhere bofore he got stitched up. (Fair enough).
Parkin - Was too good for league one, unfortunately has been cursed since he left. (Fair enough).
Mooney - Wanted two years, deserved two years, only offered one. (Fair enough)
Gurney - Was either him or Hewlett to leave, no-one wanted Hewlett (Fair enough)
Smith - Though he was better than he was after a good 10 games of form. (TWAT)
O'Hanlon - Arguably the reason other Swindon players played poor, Ifil must be glad to be rid of him now, left to go to 'a bigger club' (TWAT) ps enjoy league two.
Cureton - (TWAT)
Thorpe - SHIT!

It promised to be so different when Parkin left Swindon to join Ipswich for about £750,000 in June 2005.

Thought it was only £375k, thus why we got no resale fee.

we sold parkin to ipswich for 750k. ipswich sold parkin to luton for 375k.

the sell-on clause only applied if parkin was sold for more than the fee ipswich paid for him, which obviously wasn't the case.

so the beeb are right and you are wrong

I juist didn't think we got that much...

then again the Mikey D one for me, one for you formula has to be applied, so we probably only did get £375k anyway

it was 'undisclosed' but reported as 750k, though i think the club have since admitted it was 750k

Super Sam looks a bit like a character from Thunderbirds from that second picture. Perhaps he's got a bit of part time work while he's been injured.
