you legend. Do you ever sleep? You're always on here late at night. You work evening shift or something I remember you saying? fuck knows.

It's ace though, we went through a dry patch of late night people for a while.

I've got varied shifts at the moment. Tuesday and Thursday 9am start, Friday and Saturday 6-6.30pm start. Screws up sleep for a lazy person like me.

i'm permanent 2-10 so you kinda get used to it after a while. still irritating when there's midweek footy on the tv though.

To be fair I normally don't start until 11 ish on Tuesdays if it's been a normal quiet Monday. Of course that just means I stay up all night drinking going "Yeah I don't have to be up for ages". Go me.

i don't like this rival LNTs could lead to something perverse like a LNTWC.

Oooh LNT world cup. That would be ace. You could have teams of the 3 best Late Night Threads you've started. I reckon I've started more than anyone else so I might have an advantage.

i just got my 2 new cases of wine, first bottle is pretty good but a bit below standard for them.

you should try them FB, good value and good wine. and no, i'm not on commission.

I thought about it, but I'm a pick and mix, special offer wine connoisseur, it's random as anything but occasionally you hit something nice as anything. It's part of the excitement.

They have some Spanish stuff for half price in Sainsbury's at the moment. Down to a fiver and had gold wire and shit all around it. Got myself a couple of bottles the other day and was a bit disappointed. I'd tell you what it was more specifically but to be honest I don't really remember.

it's a tempranillo, i've had it, it's been on offer permanently in various supermarkets for about 6 months. it's ok, but pretty poor for a temp which is usually my favourite tipple.

yeah that's right, 1996 from some castle place. I'd check the bottle but I took the 70ish empty bottles of red wine I had in my room to the bottle bank today.

Was disappointing though, I've had much better random half price jobbies. I'm a complete sucker for over the top rich flavours though, unless I make an effort to  actually taste it. Most of the quiet flavours get lost between me drinking out of the bottle and taking a drag off a cigarette.

i must admit i'll go for any wine that is so thick it pours like treacle out of the bottle, to hell with subtle flavours, i want a huge dominant taste with each gulp.

i got three free bottles with the last case i bought, one white, one rose and one champagne. they're all still not drunk.

wine merchants pay a fortune for rack space in supermarkets and deliberately overprice bottles so they can be put on a 'half price offer'.

that's why i don't buy wine from supermarkets, it's generally a lot of not very good stuff thats been overpriced and then put on offer just to make it sell. you do strike lucky occassionally though, there was a sainsbury's jumilla in 1999 that was amazing and you could get a case for £30. they sold out in about 3 days nationwide. i got 3 cases myself  :soapy tit wank:

i did drink 4 bottles in one night though and involuntarily re-decorated my flat.

I haven't done 4 bottles in a night for ages, last time that I remember was a few years ago and was a bit messy. I reckon I could manage it now if I started early evening. I don't normally start on the wine till 9ish and the sleep issue could be a factor.

I always have 3 but 4 would be to much

i probably drank the equivalent in beer and champagne on promotion day but that was over at least 12 hours.

normally one bottle of an evening is enough to send me to sleep.

I'm normally a 2-3 person, normally closer to 3 if I've got work the next day. I'm near the end of my second and regretting not buying another bottle. I've got a few can's stashed so i can keep drinking at least.

depends how early you get up and whether you eat cheese at the same time.

brie is a proven hangover cure - anti-oxidants and all that malarkey.

i rarely have more than one bottle a night, but then i do work 5 days a week.

i would like to stress that i don't have a bottle every night.

i do have beer occassionally.

My internet seems to crash for 10 minutes around the hour every hour :|

I like Cold Guiness.

I also like Cold Carling.

I dont really like strong Lager like Stella,,,well not in the pub anyway it turns me into a bit of a tit.

Post by: axs on Friday, June 8, 2007, 02:08:30
seconded, well just on the wife beater, other lagers are OK, like san miguel. cold guinness is fine, i just don't agree with the marketing, it's just the same as normal guinness. beer shouldn't be too cold or you can't taste it. most pubs keep cold guinness at the same temperature as normal guinness which means there's FA difference.
