I can imagine it's quite easy for it to happen, even for good designers. You start throwing around some good ideas - Have 2012 spelt out in a shape which also represent areas of london,  and whatever other crazy representative shit is in there, then you are all to busy bringing it all together to step back and go fucking hell that looks shit.

Anyway I sort of like it. It reminds me of something they might have used on Going Live or something.

I think some of the designs that the BBC published, which were done in 10 minutes, shows what a pile of shit that logo in.

The designing company whould refund the £400k and the person who designed that should be sacked, as they have definately no taste.

And the one the BBC picks in their vote should be the one.

(I see the official design is currently 7th out of ....SEVEN).

That Beeb site has some excellent ideas - some design guru on the breakfast sofa said some people's ideas would dated by 2012, he wasn't a fan of the official design (which IMHO looked dated in 1988) but for me some general public designs were really good, even the 2012 campaing logo was better than that.  I can't help feeling we shopuld be looking for somehting a little more 'british'.

Totaly agree need something thats a bit more british, that thing we have got is total shite. Did they get some toddlers to draw shapes put them together and thought that will do.
