Title: Golf Comp Post by: magicroundabout on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 11:02:58 Yesterday i played in my first golf comp at Wokefield Park, Reading and played my worse round ever.
Everything started perfect. my tee shot flying straight and travelling 270 yards with my 3 wood. That was after you get announced to the tee to the whole group which is watching. :? The course was nice but the rough parts wouldn't have looked out of place in the jungle. If your ball happend to run off the fairway that was it you had lost it. no point looking as it just got eaten up. i blobbed 5 holes and finished on 110. Scoring only 20 points. absolutely gutted :( Title: Golf Comp Post by: Foggy on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 11:12:57 I hate being announced onto the tee,im normally nervous enough before hand anyway. What was the course Par magic?
Title: Golf Comp Post by: magicroundabout on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 11:25:46 Course par was 72.
Title: Golf Comp Post by: neville w on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, 11:27:38 I had a great round of golf going at the weekend. Playing off 18, I stood on the 18th tee (rain hissing down) needing a four for a gross 92.
Couldn't get it through the clown's mouth to save my life ! Title: Golf Comp Post by: juddie on Thursday, May 31, 2007, 11:57:02 I reemmeber playing in an STFC Golf day and after being heckled by kingy, me, my old man, turbo and a mate all twatted perfect drives down the middle of the fairway. Went round in about 7,654, but I was happy to give the impression that I knew what I was doing.
Wokefield is very tough, I've got 36 points on there before, had an exceptional round. Title: Golf Comp Post by: magicroundabout on Thursday, May 31, 2007, 12:03:33 it was very tough. the rough was horrid though. even if the ball over ran the fairway you'd lost it.
all i wanted was my first drive to be long and straight. which it was. 8) Title: Golf Comp Post by: STFC Village on Thursday, May 31, 2007, 14:25:34 Quote from: "magicroundabout" it was very tough. the rough was horrid though. horrid? You've got very high standards for a ginger |
