Title: Steve Sidwell Post by: Scot Munroe on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 20:12:22 Gone to Chelsea on a Free Transfer. Is that a really good move for him. Will he get a game.

Title: Steve Sidwell Post by: mattboyslim on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 20:16:57 Indeed - I can see why though he's a suverner, so mightn't have fancied an oop north club but I'd have thought Everton or Newcastle for example would have offered him a better 'big club' progression where he'd actually play plenty of games - if he plays he'll get an England debut by Christmas though.

Title: Steve Sidwell Post by: blinkpip on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 20:39:01 I think he'll will do well. Another target man like Drogba.
Title: Steve Sidwell Post by: Batch on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 20:40:38 He'll get to know Wright-Philips well next year. They can sit and watch the game together.
Still if it sets him up for life in £££ good luck to him. Title: Steve Sidwell Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 21:57:17 poor fucker is going to get splinters in his arse
Title: Steve Sidwell Post by: pfi5h on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 22:16:49 You would think he would learn from other young players on the back of a good season moving to the big teams. Waste of talent sitting on the bench.
Maybe him and SWP can play rock, paper, scissors on the bench or something. Will he get a game. will earn enough for life as a squad player for a year or two.then will play for a lesser prem team, similar to the scott parker situation Title: Steve Sidwell Post by: Devon Red on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 22:56:58 It's going to turn out for him like it did for Scott Parker, never really playing before eventually being moved on (either at request or being sold) Shame as he's a good player.

Luck just haves it that they have alot of money to throw at him aswellFair play to him I see your point but Reading offered him a new deal, this was obviously not good enough as far as he was concerned. As soon as he became aware that teams like Chelsea,Newcastle & Everton were sniffing around him he knew he could possibly get an extra £10-20k a week on top of whatever his current wage at Reading was! I can't blame him for wanting more money but i thought the whole point of being a professional Footballer was to actually play the game that you're being paid for? Title: Steve Sidwell Post by: Tails on Wednesday, May 23, 2007, 08:21:27 I'd be quite happy to get paid more to do less personally!
