Title: Good away games next year Post by: stfctownenda on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 15:59:42 I am sure this has probably been done already but there are some good away games to look forward to next year and as I am bored, I figured I would list them.
Must attend Port Vale - Quite an easy journey, we always seem to do quite well here as well. Crewe - Easy to get to by train and not too far. Northampton - Few mates went here last time and said it was a quality trip so shall try to make it this time. Cheltenham - Could be our 'big' derby next year, was a good away day last time with loads of Swindon singing in pub close to the ground, plus we owe them on the pitch after last humiliation. Brighton - Day at the seaside and we owe these cunts big style after the play offs, still hate them now. Bournemouth - This has to be a weekender not too far away. Plenty of booze, football and good nightlife this will be a quality one. Leyton Orient - Never turn down a trip into London, day on the booze then watch the game then back out, happy days. Walsall - Again close by so easy to get to, plus if its as good as this season then should be mental. Leeds - Good place to go out again, throw in a good stadium and hurling abuse at Wise and Co and a brilliant day out. Nottingham Forest - Want to visit the hooters, plus quite a good stadium and would be nice to put one over them after some recent heavy defeats there. Luton - Not a great area by all means but drink in London during the day then head up to Luton before the game. Yeovil or Blackpool - Either is not to bad, Yeovil is quite local and Blackpool is good for a weekender, think Blackpool is my preference so come on Yeovil. Rovers or Shrewsbury - Again wont be too bad either way as Rovers would be local and provide us a heated derby and Shrewsbury isn't too far and we would get to see a new stadium, think I would prefer Shrewsbury just to see Rovers cry at Wembley. Possibilities Swansea - Haven't been to there stadium yet, so wouldn't mind seeing it but its not to welcoming a place, unsure yet. Millwall - Same reasons as other London teams would be a good day on the booze but due to there past reputation I am a little unsure, quite up for going so wait and see on this. Southend - Journeys quite tricky and Roots Hall is a bit of a dive but seaside drinking again so maybe will go to this. Not too likely Finally we have the northern teams: Oldham - Been here, horrific place saw us lose 5-1 when Steve Cowe scored in injury time. Horrible place, horrible ground and horrible team, no thanks. Carlisle - Too far, doubt I will go this one. Tranmere - Also seen us lose here theres something about merseyside that makes you not want to return, not for me this time. Doncaster - Not really keen on this one. Huddersfield - Been here couple of times in the past and it doesn't really interest me again. Hartlepool - This is the only northern one I am considering just because you can fly up to Newcastle from Bristol for cheap and train it over and I have heard Newcastle is a good night out. So overall I am intending to go to at least 13 away games next year, League 1 has changed massively since we were last in it with some great away days now. Fingers crossed we get Bill and the consortium in over the summer and will be pushing on for play offs next year :D Title: Good away games next year Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 16:31:30 i found swansea perfectly fine, no less welcoming than most places.

Much improved on the old Vetch which was dire and hostile. Warning after last season though, if it rains, their brand new roof ...... leaks!! Title: Good away games next year Post by: Sussex on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, 16:44:44 Millwall on the train is a deffo!

Got a lift with Mex last time, it's a bit more awkward from here as you have to go into London, tube it for a bit and come back out again to find the caravans. I'm hoping for a favourable fixture calender though to enable me to make as many as poss. So much more attractive than last season's calender.

Bet Yeovil will be a mid weeker Title: Good away games next year Post by: reeves4england on Sunday, May 27, 2007, 21:48:41 Next season will be a bit awkward for me - I will probably be at uni in London and am quite poor so will be living on a shoestring budget!!!
Hope to make a couple of midweek games before I go, and then it will be a case of going around Christmas, seeing away games in the London area and trying fund trips to places like Leeds! Ideally I would like to see a few home games when I am around. As for away games, it would be nice to get to Leeds, Gills, Orient, Millwall, Yeovil, Forest and Cheltenham. Just have to see closer to the time! Title: Good away games next year Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, May 28, 2007, 09:00:31 I got stuck in the car park at Yeovil for nearly an hour and a half. They let all the wurzels out first, then the away coaches, then the players coaches, then us. Shambolic organisation.
