Title: Car Help- Pug 306 content
Post by: Chubbs on Saturday, May 19, 2007, 13:41:50
Right,

Im fed up of my car, i want to sell it and get a new one, problem is its in a bit of a state at the moment, and needs the following done to make it worth selling.....Its a Pug 306 Xs 1.8  Reg-2000
- replacment front bumper due to massive dent and crack
- replacement front bumper due to massive crack
- replacement fans x2 as the thing overheats like a bitch
- bit of body work for minor dents
- oh and to finish it off the starter motor is about to die.

The fans arent a big issue, nor is the starter motor, as i will prob p/x it and from past experience they dont really check the car over too much, so long as it starts they are happy.

Does anyone know anywhere in/close to swindon where i could get this work done at a resonable price? Im not too clued up on prices but in my head the figure comming to mind based on...well nothing really is around £800-£1000+

Forget the overheating and the starter, no garage will really check that.

If you need a new bumper your best bet is ordering one off t'internet (£200ish) and then getting it sprayed locally (another £200-£300).

Dents wise, you can buy a suction thingy in Halfords that'll pull the dents out.

ye dents not realy in issue its just the 2 inch crack caused by the force of the dent im bothered about. but hmmm...thats pricey, im gonna have to work out if its feasable me fixin' it, to see if i would get my moneys worth.
i'll give some garages a call.

I'd check prices of both the work needing being done and how much you're going to get for it. You could be looking at a scrap jobby.

Of course I know less about cars than you're average embryo conceived in the back seat.

I had some body work done and got a good job for cash by Simtex - based by John Hunt car sales in Gorse hill, opposite the swiss chalet. considerably cheaper than the quote I got from a garage in Old Town - so I would guess they represent good value?
