I'm drinking a 2006 Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon. It tastes like I opened it last night before falling asleep.

i need to order more wine soon, especially with this midweek drinking now offically condoned.

I'm worried about the status of Fridays, Sundays and Mondays.

mondays are for AA meetings, all other days i can drink through one at a time.

i have one every monday in my living room, i chastise myself for ten minutes and promise not to drink for ever more and then fall dramatically off the wagon and into the wine rack.

I understand wine glasses and see why they can sometimes be a necessity. When sharing a bottle of wine with other people for example. Although some of my most enjoyable wine sharing experiences (and I don't share my wine lightly) have been with us both drinking out of the bottle. Needs must at a shit party and all.

it only gets really bad when you can't find the bottle opener at a party and have to poke the cork into the bottle and drink out of it - and hence dribble wine down yourself all night.

That's amateur stuff. You should have some sort of cork screw with you at all times. For emergency wine drinking and stuff.

We did used to have little racial battles though. He'd call me white boy or pale face or small penis. I retorted with the classic if he died his hair white he's be a pint of Guinness line once. That got overheard. I got some sketchy looks for a few weeks.

my school was twinned with one in gunjur, gambia, a load of them came over for a visit once, the blokes all just wanted to 'shag as many white girls as they could'. Their words not mine. good laugh though and their english was better than most of the population of wales.
