Title: PC Help - Hard Drives Post by: Northern Red on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, 12:00:40 My PC's suffered a metldown and won't start.
So I've whipped the Hard Drive out and put it in a working machine (removing the original hard drive). I've got it working and have now backed up the work/photos/music etc. 2 Problems: 1. Can I install the second drive as a slave drive (and use it purely for storage once I've deleted all the programs off it like Windows, Works etc.) 2. It's stuck on a really low resolution (600x480) and 16 colours, and won't allow me to change it higher - any ideas? 2 - If you've booted from that drive then it probably won't have the drivers installed for the working PCs graphics card, so you'll need to install them before you can a better resolution on the go Title: PC Help - Hard Drives Post by: Fred Elliot on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, 12:10:45 Borrow this

If you did, you need to put that back in as the master and there should be a secondary IDE connector on the cable that runs from the HDD to the mobo. Just plug your old HDD into that.
