Title: Cup Final Plans? Post by: walrus on Sunday, May 13, 2007, 23:46:54 Anyone got any big plans for the Cup Final next Saturday? My exams finish on the Friday so celebrations galore, but not really sure what to do during the game itself. I'm in Uxbridge so only 20 minutes from Wembley so we thought we'd head down there, soak up (hopefully) the sun and atmosphere, and enjoy a few cold beverages. I imagine the pubs will be rammed - anyone know of anywhere in London that may show the game outside? I.e.: maybe Hyde Park or something? Or am I being naive? Anyone got any recommendations as to where to watch the game in London?

Wasn't it that the team who's supporters sat over the tunnell at the old Wembley always went on the win the cup? The at Cardiff it was the dreaded east dressing room of doom or whatever. There used to be the Wembley hoodoo....which was players getting serious injuries on the big day and fucking up their career....Dave Whelan was one such....Bert Trautman broke his neck. I used to make a day of it, when it was just about the only game on the box, don't necessarily bother watching it now....which is embarrassing if you get a quiz question like who was the first player to receive a red card in a Cup Final, but don't know because you never watched. :oops: Title: Cup Final Plans?
