Title: Holmeward bound Post by: DMR on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:02:58 It's his last game on Saturday too.
:( He's been fantastic and I'd love to see him back here in some capacity next season. Highly unlikely but one can only hope. Title: Holmeward bound Post by: Titch on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:04:38 Yeah he has been very good! One of the better loan players we have had! You can always tell who will go on to better things and he is onje of them i feel! Shame he is going :(
Title: Holmeward bound Post by: janaage on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:06:28 So bad boy Bri back in the side to face MK on Friday then. I wonder how he'll react.

Not necessarily, Caton has been playing out there for the reserves, whereas BH is still being played in central mid, where he still struggles. Knowing King he'l bring in Howard and stick Smith out there, rather than Caton, and so play 2 players out of position. Title: Holmeward bound Post by: janaage on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:32:56 I hope you're wrong Reg, I really do. Howard in the centre is affective as J1mmy would be in the kick racism out of football campaign.
Title: Holmeward bound Post by: Titch on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:33:35 That is what really annoys me about King, and I don't mind the bloke. Ok, try something once or twice but when something quite blatantly is not going to work, admit it and change it! He does not help himself by insisting on making some very odd choices.
Title: Holmeward bound Post by: DMR on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:36:29 So, when Holmes is gone....
I'd have this midfield (R to L) Igoe - Migs - Smith - Howard Discuss Title: Holmeward bound Post by: Titch on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:37:26 That, i am pretty sure, is what practically everyone would have! But lets not forget that Kings mind does sometimes think in strange mysterious ways!!!!
Title: Holmeward bound Post by: Reg Smeeton on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:43:25 I wouldn't have BH anywhere near it, but rather Caton.

Title: Holmeward bound Post by: Titch on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 10:45:45 Yeah i see what you say Reg but i do feel that Howard should be given a chance out wide again. He was pretty good last season out there! I have been massively disappointed with him this year but i am sure some of that is playing where he has been!
Title: Holmeward bound Post by: McLovin on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 11:07:39 I would agree with the less important TEF Dave, but if Caton has been playing as well as Reg says, it can't do any harm. I am worried though that it will be Smith on the wing, Howard in the centre.
Having said that, i wouldn't even be surprised to see Roberts out there on ye olde wing. After all, he said he was a striker, it would only be right for King to play him elsewhere. Title: Holmeward bound Post by: adje on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 11:41:03 How about
Igoe,Smith,Migz,Roberts Parky Caton ? However as long as Hewlett gets nowhere near the starting line-up,I'll settle for anything. Title: Holmeward bound Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 11:49:38 Midfield should be
Igoe - Mig - Hewlett - Smith Title: Holmeward bound Post by: Ben Wah Balls on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 14:55:32 Remember it's Howard who think he's a central midfielder not King.
Quote I think central midfield will be my best position http://www.thisisstfc.co.uk/news_headlines_Story.asp?NewsID=3439 Quote “I think I’ll ask the gaffer to leave me in that position from now on Quote “Everyone knows I prefer to play in the middle because I get more involved. There were times against Brentford the other day when I didn’t touch the ball for 10 minutes out on the wing. “The gaffer wants me out there though and says I have the quality to come in and ping passes with my left foot, whip over crosses for Sam Parkin and to get to the back stick myself. Title: Holmeward bound Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 15:57:10 Quote from: "Rich" Midfield should be Igoe - Mig - Hewlett - Smith I agree with Sooty and Sweep. Everyone assumes Lard Arse will come back in, but why not the above formation? :?: Title: Holmeward bound Post by: Titch on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 15:58:57 Because Smith is not as good on the wing and has played fairly well in the middle!
Title: Holmeward bound Post by: McLovin on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 16:02:40 Because it still includes Hewlett. That in itself is a good enough reason to ignore that idea...

He's the slowest player we've got and that includes Heywood and Reeves!
Title: Holmeward bound Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 16:51:25 Hmmmm.....so we seem to have a choice of either Hoolitt in the middle or Howard on the wing.
Both options are a bit shite really aren't they? But then this is STFC isn't it? I suppose team selection more often than not boils down to the lesser of two evils  Title: Holmeward bound Post by: DMR on Thursday, March 17, 2005, 16:54:20 How'd you figure that one OST?
Could always play Roberts on the left. Or Caton. Plus be fair, we can't keep slating fatty when he's hardly played for 3 months. Give him a go. Title: Holmeward bound Post by: OOH! Quote But if that does not happen, the England Under-19 ace admits Swindon would be high on list of future loan destinations. "From a personal view, hopefully I can get in the team at Derby, which unfortunately means I won't be coming back to Swindon," said Holmes. "But it is something you cannot rule out. Because if I'm not in the Derby team Swindon is a place I can always look to. So if the time comes when I have to go out on loan again, then hopefully the manager (Andy King) will have me back." Hopefully if Derby can get promotion this season we may just be in with a chance at some point to see him back next season. Title: Holmeward bound Post by: DMR on Monday, March 21, 2005, 22:38:33 I hope he gets drunk on all his MOTM champers and flashes Burley and gets fired. Then we can have him 8)
