Title: Hooliephobia? Post by: Red81 on Monday, May 7, 2007, 10:01:43 After the game Saturday, we went to a few pubs as did many fans. Merlin was fine, great friendly atmosphere, even with the Walsall fans. Hand shakes and all. We had a few in there then went to the Savoy (we later got asked to leave as my mates and some old boys next to us were singing). We ended up at the Vic around midnight and I still had my town shirt on and programme in hand, etc. What i'm getting at is that people are generally cautious around footabll fans. First time i've been out in ages where people would actually move out my way and wait for me to pass. Usually it's a free for all and people would queue jump in front of me at the bar. Not this time. The shirt definitely made a difference without a doubt. A mate even said to me, havent you got anything under that shirt? Like he wanted me to take it off. I replied politely, Yes but why would i want to take this shirt off. Kiss my badge you prick.

Post by: Reg Smeeton on Monday, May 7, 2007, 10:19:31 People probably got out of your way, because of the "how shall I put this".... odour.
Wearing nylon on a hot day when you're tense and nervous tends to have that effect. Title: Hooliephobia? Post by: Arriba on Monday, May 7, 2007, 10:21:11 i was thinking the same as reg.i dont think people fear others in football shirts

I definitely didnt smell. Maybe it was just me then, but it was the first time id ever gone out in a football shirt and people were generally different towards me. I was off my eye to be fair, so maybe that was the reason. Title: Hooliephobia? Often you can't smell your own odour but need someone else to tell you.......I think we need a detailed breakdown of your ablutions on the 5th to make a reasoned judgement. Title: Hooliephobia? Post by: Red81 on Monday, May 7, 2007, 10:36:08 ok reg... it was because of my odour. How can I argue with a walking encyclopedia?

I'm asking you......I know ablutophobia is a fear of washing, and autodysomophobia is a fear of people who are smelly. Title: Hooliephobia? Post by: Red81 on Monday, May 7, 2007, 10:57:17 I'm sorry but i don't know. Not even the mighty Wikipedia can help me on this occasion. So i fear that one does not exist, hence there are no phobias of football fans and my initial statement cant be true and you've made me look silly, so please enlighten me.

Fear of mobs or crowds- Demophobia, Enochlophobia or Ochlophobia (Don't know why it has so many names.) Here are a more few random ones for your delectation: Flutes- Aulophobia Female genitalia- Eurotophobia Friday the 13th- Paraskavedekatriaphobia Gravity- Barophobia Lawsuits- Liticaphobia Odor, personal- Bromidrosiphobia, Bromidrophobia, Osmophobia or Osphresiophobia Penis, esp erect- Phallophobia Shellfish- Ostraconophobia String- Linonophobia Thinking- Phronemophobia Ventriloquist's dummy- Automatonophobia White, the color- Leukophobia Air- Anemophobia Beards- Pogonophobia Bogeyman - Bogyphobia There are some wierd fuckers around.
