Title: Peacock Post by: janaage on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 14:27:05 I really don't think he does deserve it to be honest, congratulations and all that but league 2 player of the season?? Nah.
Title: Peacock Post by: Red81 on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 14:31:29 it's by majority of fan votes though, so I guess more of the town faithful voted than anyone else
Title: Peacock Post by: mattboyslim on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 14:31:53 Rather him than Mcleod though!!!!
May as well make the most of having the biggest fanbase IMHO, cos next season we'll not be the best supported club in League One. Title: Peacock Post by: Red81 on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 14:34:30 sadly it'll most likely be Leeds
Title: Peacock Post by: Arriba on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 14:36:49 Quote from: "janaage" I really don't think he does deserve it to be honest, congratulations and all that but league 2 player of the season?? Nah. :goodpost: 100%agree.not our player of the year imo, let alone the whole league Title: Peacock Post by: Rich Pullen on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 14:50:25 Who gives a shit - Peacock's won therefore WE as a fanbase have won something too.
Whoop-Whoop- :beers: :D  Title: Peacock Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 15:13:05 I think Peacock deserves this, he may not be everyone favorite player but there is no denying he always gives 100% commitment whatever postition he plays and whatever the result.
Just look at the last few weeks, has hasn't been training all week then drags himself of the treatment table to put in MOM performances for 90 mins...not known a player to play with such commitment since a certain Mr Taylor..although he was a different class. Title: Peacock Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 15:32:35 Top stuff....a moral victory for our fans really as that's the only way he won it!
But I think he deserves it for the effort and commitment, and to be honest outside the top 4 or 5 times there isn't too much other talent to choose from in this division!!! Title: Peacock Post by: DV on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 17:54:37 wouldnt swap the cock for anyone in this league.....ANYONE.
Title: Peacock Post by: Simon Pieman on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 17:56:44 Depends how you define player of the season? Someone who loves the game the most and puts in the most effort, or someone with bundles of skill?
And fwiw I've always thought Peacock to be half decent even when people were slagging him off. Title: Peacock Post by: sonic youth on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 19:50:28 I voted for him six times.
Title: Peacock Post by: yeo on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 19:51:30 Im sure if I searched this forum he was getting royally slated earlier this season.
Title: Peacock Post by: DV on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 19:54:08 not by the people who have a clue
Title: Peacock Post by: Panda Paws on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 20:41:04 only by some very short sighted people
Title: Peacock Post by: Sade on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 21:07:00 Really proud of our cock :D Nice one lee! Brilliant stuff.

You'd be right Title: Peacock Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 21:41:24 I've thought he was ace since he signed - never failed to give everything in a game
Title: Peacock Post by: red macca on Tuesday, April 24, 2007, 22:02:02 I slated him and rightly so imo.He was running his bollocks off but not doing much else.
As for dv saying it was people who did not have a clue slating him thats just silly. He got moved into midfield because he was not doing what he had to upfront simple as that really. Dont get me wrong since sturrock arrived or round about that time he has improved and been one of our best players and hand on heart i admit i did slate him .If he had roberts bad attitude though people would not praise him half as much as they do now Title: Peacock Post by: Tails on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 08:05:40 But he doesn't, so it's pretty irrelevant.
Title: Peacock Post by: Sippo on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 08:09:01 When up front he wasn't scoring goals. A striker needs to score goals and thats where he was probably getting slated?
Title: Peacock Post by: red macca on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 08:13:23 Quote from: "Tails" But he doesn't, so it's pretty irrelevant. Not really tails. what im saying is i was slating his performances at the time where others were sticking up to him based on his attitude to the game and the fact he is a nice bloke.Title: Peacock Post by: PHIL!!!! on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 09:21:34 Quote from: "red macca" Quote from: "Tails" But he doesn't, so it's pretty irrelevant. He just wasn't scoring.......So yeah ok it was fair enough for some people to slate him for his lack of goalscoring, but his overall performance, was as good as ever. Title: Peacock Post by: Arriba on Wednesday, April 25, 2007, 12:47:24 macca is spot on.
during the season as a whole he had quite a long spell where he wasn't playing well. i think his attitude and application kept him in the side, and fair play to the bloke as he busts a gut for the cause. to his credit his form lately in midfield has been different class.
