Title: Fao Whits Post by: blinkpip on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 20:33:30 My Norton AntiVirus is playing up.
When I run the live update for Virus Definitions. It comes up saying LU1848: Couldn't Create Callback Object. The rest of it works fine and my subscription is up to date. Any Help? Its pretty shit support, basically it just says make sure its running, if it is you need reinstall it but doesn't give you a reson why :| Title: Fao Whits Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 20:40:06 um i've heard about this problem/similar problem before. apparently a simple system restore should cure it
Title: Fao Whits Post by: blinkpip on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 20:43:57 If I uninstall it. Does it affect my subscription? I just paid £30 for another year back in Feb. And It was all ready on my pc, when I bought it.
So how do I reinstall it (I don't have any discs about Norton). Title: Fao Whits Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 20:44:56 i'd try a simple system restore first and see if that works. then go for the complicated symantec method if not
Title: Fao Whits Post by: Whits on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 20:50:27 as long as you have the subscription number then you can reinstall it no problems, but you'll need your cd
Title: Fao Whits Post by: Whits on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 20:53:37 but do what simon said first 8)
Title: Fao Whits Post by: blinkpip on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:00:58 System restore made it worse. Now IDS Program udate doesn't work.
I didn't get a Norton CD with my pc. The only discs I got were the ones I made for back up my pc (5 in total) Title: Fao Whits Post by: Whits on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:03:48 did you build the pc yourself or buy from a company? if its from a company it should be on the restore disks
Title: Fao Whits Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:05:05 anyways blinkpip, you can restore it back to where you were when you posted this thread if u want. listen to whits, he is the wise one
Title: Fao Whits Post by: Whits on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:06:09 i just work here Si
Title: Fao Whits Post by: blinkpip on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:06:41 I bought it from pc world in swindon in 2003. It came with no disks, you had to copy your own with Hp recovery creater. It took 5 in total.
Title: Fao Whits Post by: Whits on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:07:20 have you looked through each of the disks?
Title: Fao Whits Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:07:43 pc world....explains a lot. it should be on the back-up disks i would think blinkpip
Title: Fao Whits Post by: blinkpip on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:22:55 They all say preload on them. Couldn't find anything about norton. :(
Title: Fao Whits Post by: Whits on Sunday, March 13, 2005, 21:57:19 you could try downloading the trialware but i don't think that will work
