We won 3.0, but who impressed? Title: Reserves V Swansea. Post by: OOH! SHAUN TAYLOR on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 16:19:59 Claude Gnapke did apparently. Maybe he will start at Bury?
Title: Reserves V Swansea. Post by: kaufman on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 16:28:25 gnapke was easily the best player on the park today.
he started at centre back and kept things easy and moved to right back second half and looked a natural. he got forward, was strong and just played things simple. he will get the nod over shakes im sure and to be honest he looked better than jack smith did on sat who i thought has a dodgy game. only a reserve match though of course grimes first goal was a lovely glancing header from a james cross. Grimes looked a very good player. Partridge did ok , talked and organised at the back, think swansea had one shot on goal all game. james did ok but did not get in the game enough. and weston still did not do enough for me to get a recall. he kept trying to take players on and missing opportunities for others better placed. quite a few out there today too. i like the children singing "IS THAT ALL YOU TAKE AWAY" Title: Reserves V Swansea. Post by: stfctownenda on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 16:30:55 Who got the other 2 goals?

Title: Reserves V Swansea. Post by: dogs on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 16:37:59 I'm hoping that we'll try and get Grimes on loan next season. I reckon he could be a special talent.
Title: Reserves V Swansea. Post by: kaufman on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 16:40:58 james was alright and looked better than most on the pitch but he just never got the ball enough to influence the game. lovely cross for the first goal though.
and swansea had upfront this guy so small all the kids were shouting midget at him which was quite amusing. annoying little shite too. Title: Reserves V Swansea. We havent had a decent player on loan (except Brezovan) since King left. I hated the guy but thats the one good thing i will say about him is that he brought in some decent loanees. Title: Reserves V Swansea. Post by: kaufman on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 19:52:53 grimes does look a tidy player, be nice to see him given at least half a game before the end of the season to see more of him.
from what i saw today he was quite strong for his size and was very aware of the play. scored an excellent header and came back to set a few chances up. he did all he could i think. interesting that he was substituted about 25 minutes from the end (cause he was shit) :P him and gnapka will both feature on sat i think Title: Reserves V Swansea. Apart from being highly rated at Man Citeh (the views of Citeh fans who go to reserve games) and scoring quite a few for their reserve side, yes. He need's more of a chance though. Title: Reserves V Swansea. Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, 20:35:49 I meant for Swindon. No offence, but Slabber was supposed to be decent and he was crap.
Now I'm not saying Grimes is anything like Slabber, but you can see why I would be thinking that a season long loan on the basis of a reputation and one good reserve performance may be a little hasty Title: Reserves V Swansea. He brought in some right crap on loan as well though (Slabber, Paddy Collins, Colin Heath etc) Title: Reserves V Swansea.
