Title: any striker?
Post by: strooood on Saturday, March 12, 2005, 12:45:59
i fucking love these types of threads... with slabber going, proctor only here for a month and the assumption roberts wont instantly be back up to scratch- if you could choose any striker in the league to partner sammy who would you choose and why?

matt fryatt (walsall)- absolutely banged them in at the start of the season and he's very young, might even fill the "little man" role that in theory should be the ideal tonic for the super one.

oh and by the way you're not allowed michael chopra  :P

Urgate is a good shout. He appears to be way too good for our standard. He'll be playing in the championship before long though as wrexham are obviously skint.

I'd have to say Leroy Lita as well. He's not the finished article and hes city scum but he'll be playing at a highr level in the next couple of years

Ugarte has to be the best option.

He played for Real Sociedad and decided he wanted to play in England., Being good mates with Morientes he went for a trial at Liverpool but they didn't respond afterwards. Wrexham saw he was available, offered him a contract and off he went!

I don't get it! He wanted to play in England....so he goes to North Wales?! Perhaps the whole sheep thing is a new experience?!

Its true.

I'm sure he's Xavi Alonso's best mate, not Morientes though

I don't think he ever started a game with Real Sociedad. He had a trial with Liverpool but they didn't want him, so he played for Dorchester in the conference south, scored six goals in seven there then Wrexham signed him and he's scored 12 goals in 21 games for them.

Don't want this to haunt me, but I think Ugarte is slightly over-rated as he's had a sensational-type impact i.e.: hat-tricks in high scoring games etc. but I'm not sure whether or not he'll maintain it.  Similar to the unjustified hype around Lee Trundle.

I'd like Mooney back

The chairman of Dorchester owns a couple of hotels in the south. Ugarte came over in the summer with another couple of Spanish players to play for Dorch and work in one of the hotels.
