Title: Anybody go by train?
Post by: glos_robin on Saturday, April 7, 2007, 20:27:06
If you did what was your opinion on the policing, absolutely shocking I thought.......over the top and treating us the way they did isn't on!

I also thought it was terrible, didn't even want to get a bloody train! Ended up taking my shirt off and running the other way back the bloody carpark where i wanted to go originally. It was stupid! Angering all the fans by holding us in the road for 20minutes!

Yeah, like you said... a bit OTT. After the game I walked off in the opposite direction trying to avoid the escort and thought I'd got away with it, only to meet up with them as they were coming out of the park. :x

Was one of the lucky few who got on the first train back so can't complain too much.

You were very lucky, most were there until about 6.20 myself included.....what annoyed me most was the arrogant tossers that the police were, they wouldn't answer questions, wouldn't help just turned their back on you and ignore you!

I talked to one ok one the whole time! telling him it was completly stupid he agreed but said he was just doing what he had been told to do, then he asked what the score was and ran away!! I heard another one say that the Hereford fans couldn't stand how hard we were so we had to be escorted?!

that was silly! The Hereford fans were asking for trouble by taunting us all. I'm surprised some fans didn't manage to get through the police line. At one stage it looked like some had but they obviously got stopped. Things could have got nasty!

Did anyone else on the way back being escorted through the graveyard by the police, some bloke runs & shouts "come on Swindon lets ave them" sending the coppers on a decoy run, then 10s of coppers run to the front looking for the trouble :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

Did see that yeah, everytime anyone shouted 'come on' though the police would start panicing and looking for imaginary trouble

but be honest lads, not  a sniff of trouble all day so i guess they did their job no matter how OTT it may or may not have been.

It was well over the top.

Dont care that much, apart from not letting us on a train that wasnt even half full! Its their money. I dont pay their council tax bill so fuck em.

I suppose from their point of view job done.

i heard someone shout 'i don't want to go to the bloody gym! after we had gone through that school or whatever and towards the road to the railway station. The police were like we're not taking you to the gym! I think they thought they were serious! Loved it when people kept on shouting and the police would think something major was going on and run towards where they heard the noise! 8)
