U could have my WRX for 4k! (not really)

The STI is a great car, nearly all early jap STI's are quicker that the new ones, its a power to weight ratio thing, but u must be carefull, the engine is highly tuned and it cant really cope running on the low grade fuel in this country (cranks tend to break, 3.5k rebuild), jap fuel is 100 ron and the highest here is Tesco's 99 ron!

Why not try one of these!

cheers for the info Compo. May stay away from the imports then.

Does anyone have much knowledge on Audi S3's?

Have been looking at these also as they are quite understated cars yet are as powerful as most Scooby's.

Depends what you want to know?

For raw speed your losing a second on a scooby but you could suggest you may make up for that in comfort? personally I disagree and think the Audi S3 is and was overpriced forwhat it delivered.

I mean the old (not that old) one was ok but the new one (if your thinking of it) has serious problem with turbo-lag and you struggle to understand where all that raw power the figures describe is actually going!

Dont get me wrong, its a nice car, but the best choice it is not!

I'd rather have a scooby any day of the week and I'm no chav by any stretch of the imagination!

see thats my problem.

I've wanted a scooby for over 10 years yet i can't seem to find a decent standard car.

And the only decent ones are the horrible boggle eyed versions :|

If you are thinking of getting one then you should (IMO) get a Jap import no question about it.

Lets face it, you don't buy a scooby to have a leisurly drive in the country with your gran....you buy it cause you want to have that bum squeeking feeling of holy shit I cant believe I have this much power (for the price you've paid).

For that reaosn alone there is no match for the Jap imports and i'd say your more likely to stumble across a good one than a bad one.

I mean....people with Jap import Scooby's either bought it as an enthusiast (hence took great care of it) or they bought it as a young gun trying to be cool - and it aint hard to figure out from meeting the owner which one they are.

The link you posted first does seem a little off tilt front on and may suggest a wing accident that has been repaired cheaply and not particularly well.....on the other hand the link for the othe scooby that someone posted looks very good and the lack of details provided in the advert normally to me suggests confidence that the car can sell itself and that they have the knowledge when you meet them to explain everything.....thats the kind of Scooby you want to buy if your gonna get one!

With a Kia your buying a piece of shit.....end of.
With a BMW your buying a machine.....a well oiled machine.
With a Scooby your not just buying a car.....your buying a past time or a hobby......the owners are just as informative as the way the front bumper or any other part of the car may at first appear!

Good luck with your search!

I was going to get an S3 but went for the new shape A3 S line V6 which is certainly not slow (0-60 in 6.4 seconds and limited to 155mph) and was the same price as the old shape S3. Mine has done 40,000 miles and I picked it up for 16,500 Euro (£11,000). You'll probably need to look at something with a higher mileage in the UK but I would certainly recommend it, big engine which makes a cracking noise when you put the foot down!!
