Title: Enter Shikari
Post by: Samdy Gray on Saturday, March 31, 2007, 18:49:17
Yay or nay?

I've listened to a few tracks, I think it's too shouty for my liking.

yay

they very much sound like they manufactured their sound, as opposed to playing more natually, to compete in a particular niche, but they're still pretty good

they are one of the worse bands around at the moment, but someone seem to appear to 15 year old emo kids, i cant stand them, its not original and its not clever.

I don't mind either way, although I did hear them described as nu-rave the other day...what the fuck is nu-rave and how are they even remotely rave-like?

I have heard the Klaxons describes ad 'nu-rave' i heard them expecting soemthing reminscent of 1989 and was disappointed - not a bad band, but can't comprehend the rave comparisons IMHO.

Crap. Music

Music for snotty, grungy little twerps that have just grown out of Mcfly and claim to be the hardcore mosh element.

Just my opinion though. I'm sure they have a fanbase... of approximately fifteen years of age and up well beyond their bedtime.

Too shouty for my liking. Some of the non shouty stuff seems ok.

I totally agree with the first sentence. I haven't got far enough into the album to find any non-shouty bits. The bit that you didn't mention was all of the swearing. My, my, those little boys are toughies aren't they. They can say the 'F' word lots of times ! (Groan)

i don't like this new fad of making loud shouty music klaxons/shakira style. it'll pass soon. and giving it a stupid name like nu-rave just proves how bollocks and contrived it is - idiot kids nowadays will like anything if you tell them its the "in thing"

the klaxons scream do they? i haven't heard much by them but always thought they were indie boys

Hot Chip are also described as Nu-rave.

I think it's because the kids wear bright colours, baggy trousers, acid smiley faced clothes which is why it's called nu-rave.

I haven't heard enter shakiri so cannot comment on the original question but I do like quite like the klaxons.
